Replacing ballast I have a sony wega 55" dlp television, model KDS-55A2000. I believe my ballast is broken and would appreciate any help in figuring out how to replace it.

To confirm if the ballast is bad check the ballast board to see if the spark gap (on the ballast board) lights when you first turn the set on. If it does than the ballast is ok.

    The ballast board is where the lamp gets it's power from. So following the lamp connections (wires) - after removing the back cover- will lead you to the ballast board. On the board is a small cylindrical device that glow when the lamp is attempting to fire (spark gap). Caution in this area since High voltage is present.

call sony at 1-800-222-7669 they will replace it for you,theres a law suit out on alot of these tvs and i got a 55 LED for $225.00 to replace my sony kds 55a2000 that was 5 years old. goodluck.

No video no sound red standby light continous blinking once per second
Red Lamp light might be blinking in your TV, that means TV needs new lamp as existing lamp inside TV is broken or dear.
Please replace lamp in your Sony KDS-55A2000 TV and lamp replacement procedure is written in user manual.
