After 1 year and 9 months, when we turn the TV on (with the power button or remote), the light comes on the bottom left corner, but no picture or sound. No lightning hit the TV or anything, my wife said the TV had some strange colors on it for a minute and then went black.
Sanyo won't do anything for me, I'd like to try to fix it myself, but need to learn where to start.
I just tryed to only replace the Y-Main board and for about 5 mins the TV stayed on but a bunch of static on screen, then CLICK....it died again. Must be the Main and Y-Buffer boards.
Kevin, I have the exact same symptoms. I replaced the Y-Main on a hunch. I was incorrect, the TV started up for 30 seconds and then shorted out the board. You will probably need the Logic board and the Y-Main. Let me know if this fixes the problem or if someone has gotten their TV repaired at a shop.
Most probable cause is a bad power supply, or at least that where to start. Lay unit flat on a blanket or carpet, being careful not to twist the display. Remove the back panel, probably 15-20 screws, and measure output voltages on the PSU. There should be silk screen ID's to help. - If any are missing or off, then replace the PSU.
I had the same problem and my tv was out of warranty. I took it to a local repair shop and they told me didn't work on that brand. They said they charge $300 minimum for labor, plus parts. So probably at least $500 to fix. Since I figured we had nothing to lose my buddy and I took it to our shop at work and decided to take it apart and look for any obvious problems such as blown fuses, burned components, etc. All of the printed circuit boards are connected to what appears to be similar to a motherboard via data ribbons. We disconnected the data ribbon of each PCB to the microprocessor PCB and turned on the TV. Each time it turned back off after about 3 seconds. When we disconnected the Y-Main PCB the TV stayed on and I got the sound back, but no picture. We then disconnected the buffer PCB's from the Y-Main to ensure they were not the problem. Finally, we pulled the fuse on the Y-Main PCB and reconnected the data ribbon and the TV and sound stayed on again. I found a site that sells the Y-Main for $179 and I am deciding whether to try it or not. Any suggestions or comments would be helpful.

Thanks for your answer. I'll give it a try. I assume that the circuit that runs the IR receiver and power light must be run by a separate power supply.
I have a buddy who is very familiar with electronics, even does surface mounting on his own. I might actually have a shot at this between you guys, myself and him.
There is an error indicator light flashing on the main logic board. It indicates error: D12V
The logic board is a samsung TOP-424PA . It also has LJ44-00092F written on it. The board it self receives a 120 AC current.
I can take pictures if anyone would think it would be helpful.
Any ideas.
OK, I measured the voltage to the above mentioned power supply board, and the 12 volt side measures 12 volts like it should.
I unplugged one of the 3 main cords that went to the other circuit boards, when I unplugged one of them, the PS would then come up and stay on. Do you think I have a short somewhere on that circuit?
where can we find these buffer boards and main boards
where can I get these buffer and main boards for sayno dp42746
i have the same prob but i found a error code d12v. do any of you no what this means
