Hi just read your posting.I know your machine well and the reason the machine is not spinning is the clutch ring is worn.I do not know what country you are in but $ 250 seems a bit excessive. This web site has no affiliation with Whirlpool and everyone on this website try to help people for free.I have repaired this fault many times and If you like I can help you repair your machine. Please reply with the country you are in and if you would like further help.Looking forward to your reply.
In a case like this often I contact the makers to complain that a fault of this magnatude should not occur ..you cannot claim under warranty as most times this is for 1 year, most companies will have sympathy and listen if approached with the correct manner and fix it free..good luck..
your inner tub needs to be removed and the outer tub including the outside of the inner tub needs to be cleaned of all the sludgy soap, fabric softener, etc. that has built up in between the tubs, along with the drain tube at the bottom, you might try bleach as a stop gap,but sooner or later you are going to have to clean this out the hard way,its not fun
Pretty damn crappy of you just rejecting my help after waiting for a damn hour on-line while you just got free info. Hopefully you someday get one in return for your inability to follow through on a damn good solution. Happy New Year. Karma is a &^$ch. Best of luck ripping off someone else. Hope this costs you a new washer. You deserve it.
This often is called "lint" but is really a "whiting" left by un-dissolved soap and can be seen at it's worst ondarkcolored clothes. This is made worse in a colder climate where the cold water entering the washer is much colder than normal. Things that can effect the quality of the finished washed products. Too much soap: ( we have a test for this further down the page ) If you follow the manufactures instructions on the box, then chances are you ARE using too much soap. They like to sell you their product, I find cutting usage in 1/2 of what the box says will still wash good and also cut your chances of getting "whiting" on your clothes.
