SYSTEM NOT SWITCHING ON

DEAR SIR,
I HAVE A SONY DVP-NS50P DVD PLAYER AND THE FOLLOWING PROBLEM EXIST.
DUE TO VOLTAGE FLUCTUATION SMOKE CAME OUT AND SYSTEM STOPED OPEARTION. CHECKECKED FUSE FOUND BLOWN OFF REPLACED SAME STILL PROBLEM EXIST THE SAME KINDLY ADVICE. OR PROVIDE ANY TECHNICAL MANUAL FOR POWER SUPPLY BOARD.

    I have same problem checked fuse was ok. Just went to turn on and system was dead. I would like to get some basic voltage values I could probe the power supply for.

Changing fuse
if you are technician then try to chang the fuse fuse is bult in side the dvd player in power supply but as per standared if the fuse is burnt then please check this in nearst sony service centre may be more parts are damage

Sony CD/DVD Player DVP-NS50P not playing my avi files DVD+RW
You need to convert avi files to dvd format before burning, otherwise the player won't recognize them. Google "avi to dvd" and you'll find a number of free or pay programs that will do the conversion for you.

SONY DVP NS5OP is LOCKED
probably you locked it mistakenly, what you should do leave the player in standby, press RETURN, ENTER and then POWER buttom again. watch a nice movies.

Region Codes
It works for NS50P, NS575 and the most models of the families NS50 e
NS500.

With the DVD player turned off(stand by), press:
TOP MENU
CLEAR
POWER

Choose option 2 and after option 4. Type:
12450 [press enter]
00000 - Then press enter and power off.

DVD will now be region Free.

PAL mode ?
PAL/NTSC is automatic. if you insert a PAL DVD output is PAL ( most probably PAL-B. Some other brands allow manual PAL/NTSC switching, but at this machine this is automaticaly done. Please verify your TV set allows PAL programs
