My cd /dvd rom (dvd/cd burner) is hide..my pc doesnt recognize it..help please..i dont know if i lost a driver

Click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll down cd-dvd rom drives you might see a yellow question /exclamation mark ? ! or a red X right click to update driver You might have to physically unplug the leads for this cd/dvd computer then plug them back in restart your this should activate the found new hardware wizard. If this does not fix the problem it might be a registry problem "you only need to do the following" if you cant see your disk drive in windows explorer Close all open programs Click on Start, Run, and type regedit and press Enter Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM CurrentControlSet Control Class {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column. Upper Filters Lower Filters Upper Filters.bak Lower Filters.bak If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete

After deleting the keys, close the registry editor
Reboot your computer
Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone.

The dvd rom doesnt starts it doesnt even lights the green bulb.

Sounds like the power lead at the rear of the dvd drive has come loose or is faulty.
You will need to open the pc and check that the power lead is fitted correctly, you may need to try another plug, you may have a spare you can swap it with.

My acer aspire 5315 dvd rom doesnt work at all but somtime it do

There is a problem with the DVD ROM. Maybe it is not well fixed and causing conflict which result in making the computer slow. And maybe it is not contacting the system well again, that's why it worked and later not worked when it loose contact.

I would advice that you shut down your system, loose the DVD ROM and put the system back on without the DVD ROM after a little while when the windows must have settled, shut down the system again and fixed back the DVD ROM. Make sure it is well connected and put the system back on again. Test the DVD ROM and see if it would give the same problem. If it does, then may be you will have to replace the DVD ROM.

One a DVD ROM is bad, another one needs to be purchased, because it is usually difficult to repair DVD ROM expect in minor case.

Internal samsung cd-rom sn-124 doesnt recognize cd's/wont work

replace it. samsung cd rom even its dvd writer have lots of problems. sometime they dont want to open unless you leave a cd in it. sometime it doesnt read cd. better change it. get a Sony, LG, Pioneer DVD writer.

Driver doesnt read disks or even work

try this go to the device manager click on the DVD/CD rom drives and right click the options and then click uninstall
Now right click on the DVD/CD rom drives and then click scan for hardware changes
now open the cd tray and put and dvd.

Dvds wont play in dvd rom on travel mate 2480

if the icon of DVD is there but when u try to open it doesnt bring any windows gives u error unable to read the contents then ur DVD drive lens is faulty try cleaning it with a very soft cloth open ur drive tray and u will a crystal eye shiny thing just clean it by rubbing very gently with a tissue paper or very soft cloth which is used to clean lcd's or if u have a lens cleaner cd it will be best , if it doesnt work then i will suggest changing the DVD ROM drive there are plenty of cheap DVD writer drives available on ebay under 60 $ or so try them pls vote if u find me helping

right click the DVD drive, an choose "push it open" -> direct translated from Danish :-)

You can open the door by looking for a very small hole in front of the driver get a safety pin and open it wide and insert the tip in that hole it will open the door manually. Sometimes the door mechanism fails to open and it may work after that…let me know how that work for you and please do not forget to rate my service so we can improve on it with your help. God bless

You need to
download the latest driver for your unit that acceptable by your system and OS…
go to the site and download the new driver for XP or Vista, etc. and let the
operating system check your system and configure the drives…I can do something
many do not like but it works for me and that is going and deleting all my
drivers on the USB first and the DVD and shutdown the computer not reboot and
then start it normally and let my computer read only the drivers available and
install them and remove any conflict, then go to the DVD and upgrade my driver within…Let

- try to go to your cmos, look if its enable.
