Frigidaire washer starts to fill with water then stops

Frigidaire washer GLTF2940ESO starts to fill with water then water shuts off and the washer doesn't do anything else. The water is working properly because I checked the hoses. Not sure what is wrong, no error codes come up.

That is not the solution.

Start the machine and immediatly press the "Start" and "Pause/cancel" button at the same time. Then you will get and ERROR code. Look on the cheat sheet packed with the machine to find out what is really wrong. That will give you the real answer.

Check motor brushes, may be worn so motor will not turn under load, if not that could be more serious, faulty PCB or timer,
Will it spin on spin setting? call for approved engineer if unsure

I understand that your Frigidaire washer, model# FWS833A, will not stop filling. I see that you shut the machine off and the water runs onto the floor. I suggest shutting the water off at the inlet. From there I would contact your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your appliance and determine why the water will not stop filling your washer. I have an frigidaire front load Mod.# GLTF2940ESO with an recurring E10 error message. HELP!!
E10 code indicates there is no water supply.This can be confirmed by :
  1. Shut off the faucet to stop water supply to the washer.
  2. Disconnect and pulling the supply hose off the washer to confirm the E10Code
    • Opening the faucet and watch for running water



E10 also means that your cold water is coming in too slow, disconnect the cold water hose and check to see if the screen on your washing machine is clogged. If the screen is clean and the hose has good pressure then you will need to replace the water valve on your machine--- this is the piece that the hoses directly connect to.

Doesnot stop filling water
To javed_iqb904, does the drum actually fill or does it seem like that water is draining out as it's filling?


To neonllama19, if it fills with the tap on and the machine off, it sounds like a defective water valve. If it never stopped filling it sounds like a defective pressure switch or hose to the pressure switch is loose or diconnected.
