HI, this is a siphoning issue.

The drain hose might be too low. Make sure the drain hose is at least three feet above the floor.

I have an lg dishwasher that showed an ie error so I fitted a new inlet valve It now shows an FE code?

The drain pump automatically runs when the FE code is displayed. A leaking water inlet valve or a stuck relay on the electronic control board can allow water to fill the dishwasher constantly. To check for a leaky water inlet valve, unplug the dishwasher and see if the tub continues to fill with water. If it does, shut off the water supply and replace the water inlet valve because the valve is letting water to flow into the dishwasher constantly. If water stops filling when you unplug the dishwasher, then you'll likely need to replace the electronic control board because the control board is constantly sending current to the water inlet valve

Machine keeps filling up, replace pressure switch, still nohting, keeps filling up?

Hello dwl770 - If your washer won't stop filling up with water and overflows the tub, check for one of these problems:

1) Turn off the electricity to the washer. If the water *stopped* filling when power was disconnected, the problem would usually be in the control system of the machine. If the water still continues, then the plunger in the water valve is either stuck open or slow to close. Try turning the water faucets off and on a few times. This small joltmight unstick the water valve. If not, it will need replacing.

2) There could be a problem with the water level switch. Call in a professional.

3) There is a pressure switch hose that is attached to an air dome. This switch tells the washer that there is water in the tub and allows the agitator to start.

- Remove the control panel and you will notice a small hose. See if it popped off of the air dome. If it did, secure it with a zip tie.

If water flow continues, but drains out immediately, then raise the drain hose above the highest water level line of the tub. Do not seal the drain hose to the discharge pipe. This could cause a siphoning action.

Water flows constantly during the spin cycle

Servicing Water Inlet ValvesIf the washer won't fill or fills very slowly, if it overfills, or if the water is the wrong temperature, the water inlet valves could be faulty. These components are easy to locate and very easy to replace, at little cost. When you suspect an inlet valve is faulty, first check to make sure the water faucets are fully turned on and properly connected to the hot and cold inlets of the valves. Then check the screens in the valves; if they're clogged, clean or replace them. If water doesn't enter the tub, set the temperature control to the HOT setting. If there is no water, set the control to the WARM setting. If all that comes out is cold water, the hot-water inlet valve is faulty. Reverse the procedure to test the cold-water valve, setting the control first on COLD and then on WARM. If the tub overfills, unplug the washer. If water still flows into the tub, the valve is stuck open. In any of these cases, the valves should probably be replaced.

My maytag mtw5600tq1 washer won't hold water. Its

Hi,
Its sounds like you have a siphon going on, this happens when the drain hose it too low during fill and as the water enters the unit it exits through the drain hose. To stop this the drain hose needs to be higher than the tub itself, meaning: raise the drain hose behind the washer to about control panel area. This will or should stop the siphon effect and allow the water to remain in the tub. If the drain hose is low this siphon will start again.
I hope this helps

Hello.
If it's filling all the time when dishwasher is not even running? The water inlet valve that the house water supply connects to at the dishwasher,is sticking open and needs to be replaced..what you can do now to stop it from constantlu filling is turn off water supply to the d/w from under the kitchen sink.

Typically the model number is on a label on the egde of the door inside or on the rim of the tub..it would be needed to order a water valve

Fault code fh on awm8143/1

Two questions: Is there water in the tub? Or...is the tub empty? If there is water in the tub you need to check the following: 1. Verify that you do not have a siphon problem. This is caused by placing the drain hose too far into the drain standpipe and/or sealing the top of the standpipe. This will cause water to constantly empty as the tub tries to fill. You need to have an air gap for proper drainage. 2. Check your pressure switch and pressure switch hose. 3. Make sure the drain pump is operating correctly. 4. Check operation of flow meter. This is what actually detects the water flow coming into the machine and causes the error to flash if the proper conditions on are not set. It will detect the AMOUNT of water entering the tub and it detect the pressure switch trip that shuts off the supply when the tub is filled. If there is no water in the tub you need to check the following: 1. Check your fill valve screens. Turn off the water and remove the hoses from the back of the washer. The fill valve screens are inside the hose connections on the back of the washer. It only takes a small amount of debris to restrict water. You can clean them out using cotton swabs. 2. Make sure your fill hoses are not kinked or clogged. Check the easy possibilities, first. I suspect you may have either a siphoning problem, or clogged fill valve screens. If you check everything and still have problems, I would replace your fill valve before suspecting a defective pressure switch or flow meter. Let me know if this helps.
