Two things---first if you don't mind give me a vote here--I am rated on how many problems I fix
Second---with the original remote go into the customer menu and select Convergence---see if you can adjust the other problem that way---I can if that helps you email you the instructions for going to the tech menu to adjust convergence all over the screen and and saving those adjustments----if you find the convergence will NOT adjust in some area of the screen you may have a convergence problem.
I would appreciate a vote here for my help and if you need the directions for the advanced convergence let me have your email.

I did as suggested and yes there is a somewhat green screen in the background. The green is most visible near the top of the screen.
It looks like I may have to still deal with a few adjustments such as a little busy/wavy line activity in the top left and right corners of the screen, but your suggestion has definitely helped.
Thank you very much!
Can I tell me how to provide you with a vote? I don't see anywhere for voting.
I will suggest something---if it works or helps you I will want to know and post that it was a solution by giving me a vote here. I do this for free. You have to remove the front speaker grill (it should just pull off; IF it does not pull off look for screws on either side in back of the set) behind it you should see an inspection plate with some screws. Once you remove the plate look for a black plastic square block with 6 controls(they are all black like the block) This is the SCREEN & FOCUS CONTROL BLOCK. You will need to look very carefully at the 6 controls---one row left to right is FOCUS---do not touch those. The other three left to right are SCREEN controls---once you are sure which are the SCREEN CONTROLS----WITH the set again on that unused video input---THE MIDDLE ONE OF THE SCREEN CONTROLS SHOULD BE THE GREEN----WITH the set turned on (on the blank video input) slowly turn the GREEN screen control down(usually to the left) until the green color on the screen JUST GOES AWAY. Then return to wherever you usually watch the picture(cable etc) and see what the picture looks like. If you turn the color all the way down you should see something close to a black and white picture. Let me know what happens and if it works I will post it here as a SOLUTION AND then you can give me a vote. I do this here for free. REGARDS, SD TECH
Take the set to one of the video inputs with nothing connected to it---other than the input label do you see a somewhat green screen in the background?
