Mju 760 Problem, PLEASE HELP!

My camera has been fine up until now, and for no apparent reason, will now not take photos. when i try and turn it on the screen turns blue and the following is displayed: D : 5f08 8234 anyone have any idea what this means? i can still view previous photos that have been taken but cannot take new ones because of the displayed message. thanks for any help ! Olympus Stylus 760 Have not used camera for 2 months, tried to turn on but got nothing. Decided to recharge battery as getting ready for trip out of country and want to take with me. Recharger had red light initially when battery inserted but noticed a few hours later that red was gone, thought battery was recharged and put it in camera. Camera lense extended but screen was bright blue and only D : 8234 dispalyed. Thought battery was not charged enough so put back in charger and waited for morning. No luck, now camera lense will not collapse, clicking noise happens when battery inserted but still only displays blue screen with D : 8234. Manual has no troubleshooting tips. Worst part is no time now to get fixed anywhere before trip. Laurie

pk63606 & NSAlmodovar, check out the solution offered by k8g17, sounds like it might help with your 5f08 problem.

I purchased a 'kit' to get a new battery as that was all that was available at Christmas time but that did not solve my problem.

My camera has gone back to Best Buy as I purchased the extended warranty. It has been sent off somewhere and I should get it back in 6 to 8 weeks and hopefully it will work. I am not impressed, there should be somewhere we can contact to troubleshoot these ourselves. It was not really expensive but was not cheap either and you'd think it would last longer than 6 months. Sd card corrupt, trying to salvage 3 files from a funeral service, 3 will play and 2 or 3 will not. Of course the main part is on the one's that will not play. Is there anyone anywhere that can recover...

Although this was listed two months ago, there still might be a chance. But try not to take more pics until you've recovered your photos, take the card out of the camera. This is to reduce the chance of you overwriting some of your "lost" photos. There are many good freeware photo recovery software options that may help you recover your photos. This article reviews and outlines several of the better ones. For your case, recommend PhotoRec or MiniTool listed in the above article. Also consider the "corrupted card procedures" listed in the article.

Olympus MJU 760 Battery dies after a couple of

First step to trouble shoot. Connect a low voltage ohm-meter to the battery contacts inside the camera. Try to turn camera on. If you get a reading, write down the number of ohms. If possible, compare this with a brand new one, if store will let you. Or call the USA distributor. If ohms number is way low, you have problems inside the camera. If number is normal, the battery is no good.

OLYMPUS MJU-760 CAMERA SHUTTER IS NOT WORKING,IT IS OPEN

A) Please refrain from shouting, it is considered aggressive and impolite.
B) This will need professional attention, which will probably be more expensive than purchasing a replacement camera.

First do not panic! It is possible to recover your pictures if you take care. Take the card from the camera (powered off) and if it has a "write protect" tab then lock it now. Do not try and write anything to the card or you risk causing more problems.

You can either plug in you camera to the PC as it should appear as a “Removable Drive” or put the card in a card reader attached to your PC.

Next, if you are comfortable with using a PC then you can download a FREE utility that will recover your photos from the following link:

http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec

If you need something a little more "user friendly" then you will need to buy the software. If you search the web for photo recovery software you will find many.
One I have used successfully is RescuePro that used to be bundled with some Sandisk products. Now you can get it from the link below:

http://www.lc-tech.com/software/prwindetail.html.

You can try the demo to see what you can recover before buying.

Remember - Do NOT try & write anything back to the card until you can recover your pictures to your PC safely!

Please take a moment to rate this solution & let us know if the information given was useful to you – Good Luck!
