There is a setting in the menu that turns off the TV's internal speakers, check that.

Right click on the siund icon at the right bittom of the screen
click on volume control
look at the mic sound level
increase it if down
unsign the mute if signed
close the window and now test
hope it work with you

we use the AUX for our PS2 and it works just fine and use the yellow cord into the video in on the tv, the red and white into the BOSE

ITS POSSIBLE YOU HAVE THE WRONG DRIVERS FOR UR CARD.GO INTO DEVICE MANAGER TO CHECK IF NECCESSARY UPDATE OR REINSTALL.

Yes, it could be mother board or bad speaker wire. Or get another sound card and have someone install it for you and load the driver. again, If you have the driver for that old sound card, remove and install it again.If the sound card is on the mother board, go to the manufacture and download the driver.
