Take the bobbin out check for debris (pieces of thread, lint, etc.) that may be jamming the bobbin. check under the feed plate for a thread jam or debris. check if your bobbin is wound too tightly. it can happen! then it will keep breaking. the other adjustments are mainly for thread tension- the spool on top. if they're too tight, the thread will keep breaking. you can tell- once they're properly adjusted- by the quality of the stitch. check the bobbin first! if it's too tightly wound, you can probably adjust the winding tension on top. try a different bobbin. if that works then 'rinse and repeat!'.
good luck!

WONT SEW THREAD GETS ALL TANGELED UNDER THE BOBBIN CARRIER

Don't say the make of the machine but this may help.
First, check thread tension. Make sure both bobbin thread and top thread are the same. Make sure both needle and thread are suitable for the material being sewn.. Make sure the needle is correctly threaded. Make sure the needle is not bent or blunt. Check that there are no pieces of thread or lint caught underneath the needle plate.Make sure that the thread is not too old and inclined to knot.:-)

My stitch length is tiny and will not change

When selecting a stich, there's a button with a triangle with one edge pointing down. There you can select Needle Position and Stitch Length. --PDF manual, page 23

The thread tension has no influence on the stitch length. It just adjusts, where needle thread and bobbin thread 'meet' inside the fabric. A too high tension means, the bobbin thread is pulled trough the fabric and can be seen on the upper (needle) side. A too low tension means, the bobbin thread is not pulled through the fabric and you can see the needle thread on the bobbin side.

Bobbin thread is jammin up after about 3 rotations of wheel on my janome 8077 - is this a timing problem?

try changing the needle
make sure the thread has not come off the thread take up lever
make sure the bobbin is turned the right way in the bobbin case
make sure the bobbin is not over filled
make sure the bobbin is not damaged
it's very possible that the machine could be slightly out of time

I am having a problem with my Janome Decor Excel 5018. It was working fine, until the bobbin thread won't gather with the top thread. And the top thread is binding up underneath the fabric. Kim

try a new needle

rethread the machine top & bobbin, that way you make sure the thread is not caught anywhere

make sure the bobbin is correctly inserted in the machine

clean under the needle plate & in the bobbin area for loose thread & lint

always keep a long thread tail of 3 to 5 inches long, & keep the tails pulled back behind the needle
before sewing

if none of these things help the problem,, then it may need to be serviced

I have a janome 8050 sewing machine. It has started making loose stiches underneath and making a noise. I have changed the needle, bobbin, thread, cleaned the bobbin area. It will not make any stiches at...

The key to proper stitches is that tension on the bobbin must equal the tension on the upper thread spool as well. The bobbin has a tension screw that may have come loose or the thread is not properly in the tensioner. For example, the bobbin could be in backwards. Or the tension of the top could be too light and allowing the tension on the bottom to pull the thread down too much.
Open the bobbin tray and watch while you slowly rotate the hand control to see it make a stitch.
You will probably be able to figure out what is wrong.
