Variable speed fans suddenly slow single speed only.

IBM ThinkCentre M50 model 8188
All 3 cooling fans (CPU, PSU, Case) operate only at a single low speed. All fans are variable speed and until just recently could be heard varying speed depending on temperature. Nothing changed or modded on PC... one day the fans were varying, now they're not. Oh, also, when the PC goes on standby, the fans now don't switch off ... previously they used to. Any thoughts where to look how to identify / fix problem.

I have a problem in Lenovo/IBM ThinkCentre A51 8135-41G when power on the cpu fan start in hight speed and hung what can i do

open case and see if the fan is dirty, clean it with canned air if that solves the problem your set. If it doesnt solve your problem then the Fan will have to be replaced ,in order to keep the cpu cool.

CPU fan issues

The fan may not stay on all the time - its a feature of laptops to help save power. The fan is also variable speed. As the CPU gets hotter, the fan speeds up. When the CPU isn't being used as much and is cooler, the fan slows or even stops. It turns on to full speed when you first turn the laptop on as part of the BIOS system check.

The noise is another issue. You could have a broken "fin" or fan blade. The bearing could be going out. Something may have simply "crawled" inside the fan's output vent. In any case it may be worth your time to have a professional open up the laptop and look at the fan. I have heard a LOT of noisy laptop fans in my day, and believe me it's not the worst thing to put up with.

Occassionally power supply get shut down suddenly when i am working on my computer bios setting of my IBM mother board gets disturbed

Hi, Have you checked the cpu cooling system, usually this happens if the heatsink does not sit on the CPU surface or there is some air gap, use heatsink compound to fill up the gap , or sometimes the fan RMP is slow cause of wear /tear.If not then check your ram and PSU.

Hardware monitor found an error

Diagnosis: Lack of P.S.U. fan speed report indicates P.S.U. fan sensor damaged by overheating. This was caused by cooling fin blockage since the Sony design on this model cools the C.P.U. THROUGH the P.S.U.
Expert level fix: Remove P.S.U. Remove C.P.U. fan and vacuum. Remove C.P.U. cooling fins from C.P.U. and cooling fan mounts from fin box, vacuum. Reassemble C.P.U cooling system. Replace P.S.U. with O.E.M. part only since in this case it is proprietary to the unit.
