The message refers to the ink pads, which are actually a number of porous pads in the printer that collect, distribute, and very importantly contain the ink that is not used on printed pages. Ink is collected by these pads during the initial setup of the product, during cleaning cycles and when printing borderless photographs. Most users will not receive this message before the printer is replaced for other reasons. Some high volume users or those who use the printer for many years may receive this message about ink pads before other components reach the end of their usable life.

You can also reset the counters on the Epson to allow you to continue printing by downloading a service utility at the following link

Parts inside in my printer are near the end of their service life

A Service Error where you get a message telling you that "Parts inside your printer at the end of their service life, contact your dealer for replacement", or "Parts inside your printer require maintenance or replacement, call your service company", is normally a Maintenance Request Error. The maintenance request error is actually a Waste Ink Ink Pad Error and usually your remedy is:

1. Replace the Waste Ink Pad/Pads with a new one/ones (many people ignore this one, and they just follow #2)
2) Reset the Internal Waste Ink Pad Counter by using SSC Utility

Download from this site http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml and follow instructions.

I hope this information will be helpful. Thank you for using FixYa!

Changing ink reservor on Epson rx620

Are you often to used refilled cartridge? That's possible your waste tank has been fulled. Hold down the 'Stop' AND the 'B&W' button while powering up. This seems to clear the error message and restore the printer. Worked for me--dunno how long it will last tho!

Please rate me SOLVED.

Regards.

The message that you received indicates the ink pad absorbers are full and prevents the printer from running because unchecked it would leak ink everywhere including outside of the unit. To fix this you need to replace the pads with new ones and reset the counters to let machine know you have changed the pads. On top of that you must download a utility program for your model that will allow you to set up the counters so the printer will run. I strongly recommend replacing your printer especially when it is a refurbished item, even Epson feels it is better to replace.

We're getting this Service Required message - Parts inside your printer are near the end of their service life. See your printer documentation. What part are we needing to replace?

the parts most likely to be replaced with such a message are the waste ink pads. (sponge pads that collect the ink that is used for print head cleanings). these pads are difficult to reach inside the printer (full dissassembly is necessary) and doing so is a VERY dirty job. i suggest contacting a repair center near you.

On your machine it means that the ink absorbers are full. There are around 9 of them. You will need a shop to replace them and then reset the counters.

Printer sending message

Waste ink tank/pads getting full.

Normally your remedy is to replace the "Waste Ink Pad/Pads" with a new one/ones and then reset the "Internal Waste Ink Pad Counter". The waste ink pads are normally housed in a black plastic box. They are located in the bottom of the printer, towards the front, just under where the paper starts to exit. You would have to remove the "Top Cover Assembly" to be able to get to the screw or screws that hold that assembly in place. If you cannot figure out how to remove the waste ink pad holder assembly [plastic box], you may need to actually get a SERVICE MANUAL, to refer to that removal procedure.

You may want to try doing a general search on the "Fixyourownprinter.com" printer repair site, under WASTE INK PADS or WASTE INK COUNTER RESET PROCEDURE.

Message "wasted ink tank near full" on Canon Multipass F80

Inkjet printers have a fibrous pad inside them that collects the waste ink from cleaning the print head. Over time, this pad fills up with ink and can no longer hold any more. When this occurs, the printer indicates a "waste ink tank full" error.

Replacing the waste ink absorption pads is something an authorized canon service facility can take care of for you. Once they are replaced, it'll be functional again.
