The tv turn but no sound no picture it is a 1997
I have TOSHIBA PROJECTION TV MODEL TZ50V51. While it was on all of a sudden it wnet blank. When you power, the red light lits and starts blikning with nothing coming on. Help please
Need to test F470 and F850 for open.. Simple continuity to see if either fuse is open.. If F 470 is open replace it and C884 and if F850 is open you probably you may need to replace the two convergence amps STK392-110... Large black Ic's screwed on an aluminum heat sink...

Something is preventing the power supply from operating:
Possible causes in order of likelihood:
1) Convergence amps failed overloading the supply (See if you can disconnect them)
2) High Voltage circuit has died. (Right on schedule since your TV is 10 years old)
3) One of the CRTs has shorted
4) The power supply itself has died (Is there a lot of dust covering it?)
See if you can isolate the failure by working down the list.

I have a Toshiba 50H72 and it was fine with no problems. Next day you could turn the TV on and the red power light goes on but no picture and no sound. Checked the PD0074 deflector board and found fuses F850 and F851 blown. I replaced them and again they blew.
Any ideas of what is wrong?
