First make sure the Internet is working.
If it is then try to login with the same username and password on www.hotmail.com if you can log in then it's a problem with outlook express if you cant then that is the problem.
To make sure outlook express is correct click on Tools, Accounts then click on Mail tab and then click on your email address and select properties make sure the username and password are correct or retype them.

MAPI error message when import or export messages in Outlook Express

·You import mail from Outlook into Outlook Express, but you removed Outlook from your computer before you tried to import the mail into Outlook Express.
·You configure Outlook Express to be the default Simple Messaging application programming interface (MAPI) client.
·You import or export mail from Outlook Express, and you do not have Outlook installed on your computer.
To resolve this issue, try one of the following methods, as appropriate for your situation.

Method 1: If you want to use a special program you can use Outlook Express Fix Toolbox

https://www.fixtoolbox.com/outlookexpressfix.html

Method 2: Change your MAPI Settings

Configure Outlook Express to not be the default Simple MAPI client before you import the mail items. To do this, follow these steps:
1.Restart your computer, and then start Outlook Express.
2.On theToolsmenu, clickOptions.
3.On theConnectiontab, clickChangeto open theInternet Propertiesdialog box.
4.On theProgramstab, click an e-mail application other than Outlook Express in theE-maillist. ClickApply, and then clickOK.
5.ClickOKagain to close theOptionsdialog box.
6.Exit Outlook Express, and then restart Outlook Express.

You can now import or export messages.

I just want to begin writing e-mails. I have my e-mail address now how do I get up the e-mail format to write to friends?. I have phoned my close friend to write an e-mail to me so that I can reply and...

Firstly, who is your email account with..? if your account is with your Internet service provider, ask them which email software they would prefer you use. Most providers use Outlook or outlook express which is installed with Windows so go to Start and click on the Outlook express icon in the start menu. If you have not already done so, outlook will ask you to enter your email details like your account or email name and password etc and once done, you will then be able to download and read your mail.. If you are using a third party email service like Hotmail or Yahoo, use whichever browser you have and goto their website and click onto their mail login, enter your login details and your email inbox will appear, click on the emails you wish to read and off ya go !!!
Have fun..

I am not able to send or receive my Yahoo mail. I

Hi
Follow these steps.
ncoming Mail (POP3) Server: pop.mail.yahoo.com (Use SSL, port: 995)
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com (Use SSL, port: 465, use authentication)
Account Name/Login Name: Your Yahoo! Mail ID (your email address without the "@yahoo.com")
Email Address: Your Yahoo! Mail address (e.g., [email protected])
Password: Your Yahoo! Mail password

If you want to use Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird or other third party email clients to view your email you have 2 options.
Subscribe to mail plus:
http://billing.mail.yahoo.com/bm/Upgrade…

or download and install YPOPS
http://ypopsemail.com/

then follow the directions for your version of outlook here,

http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/or…

If you have trouble with set up, check the YPOPS installation page for alternate set up instructions.

http://dbeusee.home.comcast.net/
Click on YPOPS link on the left.
Then Click on Configuring email clients towards the bottom.
Choose the appropriate link for your mail client.

I currently utilize version 2.0.0.4 of Thunderbird
and version 0.8.3 of YPOPS (there is a more recent version of YPOPS that you need if you are Yahoo Beta Mail) and have no problems.

I can not set up mail account of out look express my server smtp

Setting up Outlook Express, you need to know from your Internet Provider (ISP) or who host your email (e.g yahoo or hotmail) for the Incoming Mail Server(POP) and Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP). This needs to be configured in Outlook Express before you to can check and receive your emails.

Cannot send nor receive email on outlook express

Make sure you have the right email and password set up in your copy of outlook. Or try to go to the actual website. Like for google mail then mail.google.com, or www.hotmail.com for .net, .hotmail and .msn

My computer has stopped downloading E mail to Outlook, it is on Hot Mail but apparantly the outlook Connector has stopped. Have been getting messages to upgrade for several months but the URL gigen only...

Hotmail not too long ago stopped their POP3 service for programs like Outlook and Outlook Express. I have advised my clients who use Hotmail to migrate to a POP3 free service such as Gmail, which can be easily configured for Outlook Express, Outlook, Blackberry, etc.

The upside is that you will be able to view e-mail in Outlook again. The downside is that there is no way to migrate the Hotmail e-mail into Gmail, other than forwarding each message to your new Gmail account. Additionally, you will need to notify all your contacts of your new address.

Hope this helped :)

Information about e-mail

You cannot know for sure.

If you don't get an automated "failure delivery" message from sending server like "destination unreachable", you can assume that the mail was sent.

The other aspect is -DO the recipient RECEIVED the mail?,
SENDING mail does not assures you that it was RECEIVED.

Well, There is a way to add a confirmation request to your mail but most people click "NO" to the request.

To configure the receipt request in outlook express do the following:

Open outlook express --> press on "tool" tag --> a new menu is displayed, --> press on "options" tag, a new menu is displayed, --> press on "receipts" tag and tag "V" at the first chioce "requesting read receipts".

To configure the receipt request in outlook (not express) do the following:

Open the outlook program and press on "tool" tag --> a new menu is displayed, press on the "options" tag, a new menu is displayed, press "preferences" tag -->press on "email options" tag --> press on "surveillance options button", a new menu is displayed, then tag(V) on the 6th tag "send receipt"
