My new 54" cut husgvarna is leaving grass streaks in the middle of the mowing deck. have to mow over area at least twice to eliminate the streaks. does anyone have a similiar problem or a solution to the problem
Your forward speed may be too fast for the mower blades to cut every blade of grass. It may be new, but check the deck to see if there are any dents pushing the quill assemblies up making the deck cut uneven. Or it may have the wrong blades on it.
I have seen this problem in the past with a Gravely mower. The person was trying to cut grass to fast. He sold the unit and the new onwer did not noticed any the problems the old owner described.
Afraid I strongly disagree with your thoughts on the reasons why these decks leave more than half of the grass uncut.
Too many of us are complaining about the same issues, and they are related when it comes to the uncut grass, and the severe clogging of the mower decks undersides.
To understand the issues that are at hand one must know a little something about airflow, and also you really have to flip deck over, and look at the engineer's design that they used in trying to achieve proper lift and discharge of clippings..
Your thinking would be correct in a lot of cases, but here in this case it is way outta the park as to why.
Having just viewed the YouTube ad they released on the new design, I see they totally changed the underneath layout of the new Clear Cut fabricated decks...
What upsets me, is that they left us that bought the older mowers with the old deck configuration hanging, and now we're stuck with a inferior POS. Unless some of us are capable of re -configuring the decks ourselves that is, and even then we're screwed, because then 10 year warranty is null and void I'm sure..
On a whole I feel they got us from the start, because at the price we paid for these pieces of equipment the value is not even close to what we paid.
Between the poor design of the fabricated decks, the too light of grade system they used to try and hold the weight of it up, and keep it in proper adjustment. Not too mention the added weight of all the clippings that it is unable to discharge. Which in of itself, is a great big hit in the back pocket of us, and they've lost a goodly amount of loyal customers due to it all.
Then there's the substandard steering system they've stuck us with too, add it all up they totally dropped their standards, and cost them the many of us that bought their brand of equipment in the past..
Which I'm sure they'll never feel for many years to come, because of the growth rate of our population. So that there will be plenty more to follow in our footsteps for them to gain their Profits off of for years to come..
Sincerely,
Timothy J. Milam Sr.
