I was using the photo card reader on the front of the unit, it wouldn't go in properly, and the red camera light on the front, and the green photo light on the top started blinking. It says Memory Card Error on the screen. It will print if something is sent from the printer, but the fax, copy, scan functions will not work. I have tried unpluging and letting it sit to reset, and that hasn't worked. I called HP support, and they transfered me 6 times just to tell me in the end, I am out of warranty and they can't help me. Any ideas??

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS AND VIDEOS TO A COMPUTER If your photos and videos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Sometimes memory card error happens without any notice. But luckily most of the time we are able to fix the memory card error and get back files on the memory card. Take a look at this guide: Fix memory card error and recover data good luck!
If your SD memory card contains more than 1,000 images, the camera will display "Communication Error". Use a card reader (if available) to import your images into the computer, or see about having some CD's made at a photofinishing business.
do one thing. as per canons manual: if any error is displayed when using your memory card do a low level formating of memory card. but what to do for pictures in it? get a memory card reader from market. its very cheap. its also advisable to use memory card reader to transfer your photos rather than using direct connectiin to computer. after doing a low level formating then transfer photos inside memory card from system, put it in ur camera, then enjoy. hope you are clear with your problem. please give a feedback.
