Hi. My sony KDF-E50A10 will turn on for about 30 seconds, then the picture and sound go off, the standby/power light flashes 49 times green and the set turns back on. After 30 seconds, the same thing occurs again, over and over. I unplugged the tv for 60 seconds to reset it, plugged it back in and still the same problem.
Well, after reading multiple concerns on this tv, the general answer was to replace the lamp. I ordered it through www.vanns.com , installed the new lamp and have had no problems since! Tv works for about 2 minutes, then shuts itself off. the red standby light flashes 50 times, then the tv. comes back on for approximetly 2 minutes then goes off again, only to repeat again

I recently got a 60 inch Sony KDF-E60A20 from a friend for around. ... runs for about 1 minutes then goes black(no picture no sounds), then the picture and sound come right back on for another minutes then off for 30 seconds.
Sounds like the main system control-chroma IC fault. These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power led, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. Hi, It is symptom of weak lamp that has been reached to an end of its working hours life but not dead/ broke yet. If lamp has not been replaced in last 2-3 years then please replace lamp in tv to get solve this problem. Lamp replacement procedure is easy and written in user manual, please buy Sony original lamp for good picture in tv. Thanks.
Im guessing it is doiong this about every 30 seconds or so. Im also guessing that when the sound and picture go out, the green standby light flashes until the set comes back on. If this is the case, mine was doing the same thing. I did a bunch of research. I replaced the lamp and the tv is like new, no more problems. The lamp light on the front of the set does not come on because the lamp/bulb is noot burned out all the way. I bought my lamp from www.vanns.com , the best price I found.
Hi,
Lamp of TV getting weaker and requires replacement. This shut off by itself will increase day by day until you put new lamp in TV.
Always Buy Sony original lamp and avoid aftermarket/ cheap lamp for TV safety.
4 times blink error shows that any FAN is not running in TV as there are 4 fans in this TV. Please check fan connectors and make sure all are plugged securely.
I believe your issue with Light engine.(KDf-E50A10) If you have warranty on this unit contact seller.

Same unit different problem
Customer replaced Lamp ***'y still unit bliks, there is two reason.
1.if your lamp door not closed properli it will blink.
2.watch for ballast ***"y fires the triger to on the Lamp? if not your old lamp is good repalce Ballast..
