Next to the eyepiece is a diopter adjustment. This allows you to focus the viewfinder just for your eye. The camera lens is not affected. I can adjust the diopter and shoot without my glasses haveing to be on.

Canon Power Shot SX10 IS - I've had camera for about 4 months. As of a week ago, I can only use small view finder for taking photos; the 2.5 screen for viewing does not work now. Able to view photos...

You can reset the camera to factory settings. If after that, you still have the same problem, make valid the Canon warranty since it's 4 months old.

Photos taken in the sun are all blurred & not clear , but inhouse photos are normal ( DSC-P73 4 years old)

the settings of the lens might be too sensitive for bright areas. You can try adjusting this on the settings.

Blurred screen and photo

"...even though the screen is clear"...?

The screen is a tiny view of the picture and you cannot see all the details of the shot that way. The only way to be sure is to zoom in on the details when viewing the photo on the screen.

Won't Take Photo

Hit buttons for the ISO settings on the photo you just took; if the settings are way off, maybe you can correct those or select a mode which gets you a proper image in the LCD; or reset the camera.

I for one wish I would jog the camera to a local shop for free adjustment (e.g. lens reattachment) the first time I ran into symptoms like that. I always let it fester 10 min, though.

I have this camera, and I love it! Good Luck!

Blurred image

The viewfinder image should look sharp & clear, as long as the camera is turned ON. If the camera is OFF, the viewfinder image will blur. At least this is how it works on my C2000z. If your viewfinder is always blurry, I would return the camera for exchange.
