Camera was working fine and then all of a sudden, it will not turn on. The charging LED show's when it's plugged in but will not power on. Plugged into computer does nothing. Taking out XD card does nothing. Taking out battery and putting it back in does nothing. Will not power on when plugged in to charger.

SOURCE: Olympus digital camera wont turn on

If any digital camera is subjected to extreme humidity or just plain dampness it's a fairly ggod bet the battery terminals within the battery could become corroded. Check them before blaming either the camera or batteries. Quite often a vigorous rub of the battery terminals themselves with a sheet of printer paper(especially aa type)is enough to cure the problem. With most cameras you will need a torch to check the lower contacts in the camera and any corrosion will be easy to spot but even if you can't see any it's always a good idea to use a little piece of wet and dry wrapped around you index finger to rub the tops of the contacts. So don't forget, check the batteries AND the camera contacts. A good way to check to see if the batteries have had their day would be to pop them in a torch or other appliance after cleaning them to see if they work. BMW

SOURCE: Canon powershot SD750 will not turn on.

Hi
There are several things that could cause this.

1- Check the battery door indicator switch under the battery door and beside the memory card slot. Is the little black switch damaged or missing? Try pressing down gently using a pen it with the door open and then press the power button. Does it turn on?

2- The fuse has blown and needs to be replaced. Offhand I don't recall where it is on the SD750 PCB or how hard it is to solder on a new one (depends on if its tricky to get at or not). Good thing is fuses are really cheap.

3- Other power problem with the PCB due to corrosion or impact damage. The PCB or 'motherboard' of the camera will need to be replaced.

SOURCE: camera was dropped and now won't turn on. Battery

Have you charged the battery since the drop? If not plug it in and charge it...

After that if the camera still isn't turning on then I'm sorry to say the camera is most likely busted.

But if you can get your hands on a spare battery as well give that a try.

Good luck!

SOURCE: camera was dropped and will not turn on. battery

You've likely damaged the lens tube (housing) or jarred the zoom mechanism off of its track. Both problems will cause the camera to shut down to avoid further damage, and both will require professional repair.

My nikon coolpix s220 just stopped powering on. i charged the battery, but that didn't help. any suggestions?

If the camera was dropped and it does not turn on with a known GOOD battery the camera must have been damaged. When you dropped it the FIRST time and it worked you were lucky. Cameras do NOT like to be dropped.

My nex tech binoculars will not turn turn on . Batteries are good

Was the camera dropped??

If it wasnt dropped try changing the batteries.

install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into the camera.

1. If the camera is on, turn it off.
2. If any accessories (memory card, lens, USB cable, camera or printer dock, etc.) are connected to the camera, remove/disconnect them.
3. Remove the battery/batteries from the camera.
4. Verify:
That you are using the correct battery/batteries for the camera
That the battery/batteries are correctly installed
That the battery/batteries are fresh or fully charged
Follow the battery installation and charging instructions in the camera User Guide
5. Turn on the camera.

My Canon EOS Rebel XS 35mm SLR Camera will not turn on. I took several photo's and then the camera stopped taking photos and just read "busy" thru the viewfinder. I turned the camera off and then it...

Your camera is 20+ years old. They are electronic and most likely it is dead. Clean your battery contacts. If that does not do it... again it's a 20+ year old camera. The electronics go, just like a dead tablet or computer, a bad transistor will kill the camera. You can buy used Rebels for dirt cheap, under $50. But again, you are buying an old camera.

Dropped sony camera randomly turns on batery is

The drop likely damaged the lens tube (housing) or jarred the zoom mechanism off of its track. Either condition causes the camera to shut down to prevent further damage. There is no safe DIY fix, but the camera can be professionally repaired. Contact Sony through their web site or visit a local camera shop (not the department store) and get a repair estimate -- you will need to decide if the camera is worth the cost of the repair.

Wont turn on

Well to be3 a 100% about the battery I would replace it with one that you know or is guaranteed to work. Camera batteries can look OK from outside and be completely collapsed inside.

No Charge lights can indicate NO battery and if there is one inside then it is dead and registers as a no battery ( no charge light)

The red light blinks in very low state, but totally discharged it will not blink and wont blink again until loeft on chareger for about 3-4 hrs to overcome the low state.

FE-230 Failure to come on

Hi Gary
Is the camera under warranty and registered with Olympus? If not registered, make sure you do that online first. It also extends your warranty to 13 months. If no receipt, It was a gift.
You most likely have a bad lens assembly (was it dropped?) or microprocessor. Here's your link...

Dropped camera now it will not power up or anything battery is charged

You probably blew a fuse. Maybe the lens jammed and the motor could not overcome the jam so it shut itself down to protect itself. I dropped my first camera, under AMEX warranty and it came back with 3 fuses repaired, no physical damage-just wouldnt turn on.

When the EasyShare digital camera is not in use, and the battery is fully charged, can I leave the camera (turned off) in the dock?

The EasyShare camera dock automatically stops charging the batteries after it registers a full charge, so it is fine to leave the EasyShare digital camera on the EasyShare camera dock for short periods. However, leaving the camera on the dock for longer periods (days or weeks) is not recommended because this can cause problems with your camera and the batteries.
