Lens stuck open on my digital camera

5.1 megapixils L3

The camera lens was stuck open - can be manually closed but doesn't do it on its own and won't let you take pictures.

Lens is stuck.

Try jiggling the lens. Use compressed air to blow out any grit around the lens barrel. If that doesn't do it, you'll need to get the camera serviced.

Lens stuck open position

The internal gears or parts may be damaged beyond repair.

You may want to sell it as parts on a site such as Ebay. List in the title:
as is, parts, repair parts, or repair.

To fix such a camera would be more than it is worth, in my opinion.
Take care.

Camera lens stuck

Look at some of my posts today.
This may be that the lens is off track and may be able to be pushed back by a little force as you start the camera....see my other posts on this problem.

Lens is stuck open and making a clicking noise!

It costs more to fix than replace. It's quite asinine. And I wouldn't recommend Nikon again.
