USB Device not recognized?

I was going to sychronize some songs on Windows Media Player, but when I put in the my MP3 it said 'USB device not recognized' so I looked around, tried reattaching the MP3 a few times and it still didn't work. The worst part is the when I took out my MP3 it still had a blue screen that said 'MTP Connected'.I tried turning off the device and it wouldn't do anything. My MP3 was working fine before I had connected it,also. So what can I do to get my MP3 working again?Or should I just replace it? it work pick it up

Computer doesn't recognize MP3 player -

Turn off CPU, Unplug Power cable, And all usb devices, let it sit for about 20mins. Plug it all back in. Turn on the CPU! Also make sure if your device requires "DRIVERS" or if you have a CD download and install that before anything.

Computer doesn't recognize MP3 player -

I had the same problem, all you have to do is first turn on the Mp3.Then go to settings. Then go down to USB mode. It will probably say, auto detect. But instead scroll down to MSC. If that doesn't work try MTP.

USB Device not recognized?

Uninstall the MTP Device in the control panel of your desktop using the add/remove hardware wizard.

Possible firmware upgrade issue.
Reset first - located on side of player. If that fails, Creative actually has a step by step tool you can use at:

Sansa trouble recognizing/ synching

What i would recommend you to do is to uninstall the device and reinstall it back...tou uninstall it...assuming that you are running windows xp1.gif...click on start, right click on my computer and go to properties..you should have your system properties open then click under hardware then device manager...look for the sansa device..it usually located under portable device..if its not showing there i would recommend you to look for under disk drives1.gif and see if its there..right click on the device and click on uninstall...after you unintall it unplug your device from the computer and check to usb mode..it has to be under MTP mode or auto....after you check the mode open up your windows media player click on tools, options and click under privacy...clear the history and caches...after you finish you can plug the device on the back of the computer not the front then windows should recongnize it and it should work properly..if that doesnt solve the problems upgrade your windows media player to 11 even though you have done that already..let me know the outcome...

Won't Upload Songs

player has problems with windows media player 11. works with wmp 10. player also has problems with vista. firmware was designed for xp. no firmware updates available. you can try dragging and dropping through windows explorer, treating it as a usb mass storage device. it will play folders and songs this way. to get vista to recognize it, format the player through the player's menu ( set-system-format ) not through the computer. take out the battery for 15 minutes. reboot your computer. put battery back in. plug into usb port. hopefully vista recognizes it as usb device

GPX MW6815DT trouble

For those that still use this mp3 player here are some things you need to know.

the gpx mw6815dt can operate as a media player or a usb storage device.

you need to change which state it is in via the System option.
Enter (Sys) from (Mode) go to (Online Device) enter (Mode) select USB Disk or Media Device. When you connect it as a USB Disk you will see all files not shown when connected as a Media Device using windows explorer. Also I suggest you make sure if you format the GPX you stay with the FAT 16 file system.

Note: DRM only works when the gpx is in Media mode.

If you have an SDcard installed you can access it via windows explorer or media player as a usb device only. With media player 11 you can still sync both the internal and sd drive with your library however you won't have drm options since your in usb device mode.

Note: in order to have both usb drives avaiable you need to use the Multi Drive option under (Online Mode) in the (System) menu, other wise you won't see the sdcard.
