If you set the printer's IP address to static. make sure that the IP address of the printer is not conflicting with the IP address of the computer. and for your printer and computer to work properly try to access the GUI of your router. permanently assign the IP address of the printer, so that the next time the router updates the IP addresses, it will not use the static IP add of the printer.

If the printer does not have a hard drive. Pdf will be hard to print.
Second, Are you using a PS driver or PCL? If PCL change to PS.

Here are some direct printing setups also.

To download a PDF file directly to the printer from Windows 2000 / XP / Server 2003:
To download a file to a printer that is connected using an Ethernet (network) cable, use the FTP command or CentreWare Internet Services (CWIS). To download a file to the printer that is connected directly to the computer with a USB cable, use the Xerox File Downloader Utility.
To download a file to the printer using the FTP command:

Webpage

Hi,
Try 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1
If none works, then go to Start->Run and type 'cmd' without the quotes and press enter.
The command prompt window will appear. Then type 'ipconfig' without the quotes and press enter. Look at the Default Gateway ip address. That is the ip of your router.

I want to enter an email address for the scanner for AR-455N

If you need to put in an additional e-mail address to an ARM455N, you can use the webpage or the key operator settings. The user manual outlines how to enter an address via the scan settings in the key operator area.

To access the web page, open up a web browser on your PC and enter the IP address of the copier. Login is 'admin', Password is 'Sharp' (case sensitive password).

Next go to Destination Management and then E-mail. Enter the information for the e-mail recipient here.

No admin web interface page after typing 192.168.1.1 in browser URL

To find the IP address of your router open a command prompt (Go to start -> Run), type "cmd" and hit "Enter".
In the following command window type "ipconfig /all" and hit "Enter" again. The value after "Default Gateway" is the IP address of your router.
Type that into your browser. Don't type www.etc., simply (in my case) "http://192.168.1.1".

If this doesn't work for you, go back to the command window and type "ping 192.168.1.1", where you replace the IP address (192.168.1.1) with the one you found under "Default Gateway". If you get a "Request timed out" reply, you have a connectivity problem.

In that case, come back here and post the output of the first command (ipconfig /all) as a comment. I will check back and we take it from there.

Network printing (network port)

The copier and the workstation should have IP addresses from the same LAN class.

Open any internet browser and try to see the printer's webpage - Command Center by typing the printer's IP address.
If you see it = OK if no then something is wrong with the network ...

If you are using a router/hub check if you have a green light for the printer port at the router/hub and at the printer - ussualy a green light indicate OK

If the cables and the rest of the network hardware is OK do a ping from your computer to the printer.
In windows XP: Start->Run-> type cmd
then: ping xxxx.xxxx.xxxx.xxxx
whre xxx = printer IP address
you should see a replay if everything is OK

A very simple check is to bypass the whole network infrastructure (which may be at fault) by connecting the PC or a laptop direct to the printer using a cross-over network cable. Give a static IP to the printer and a static IP to the computer. from the computer you shoould see the printer webpage (open any internet browser and typ the printer's IP Address)

Sometimes for security reasons routers have ON some filters - check any firewals about MAC / IP filters or ports. To print using the network printer you need to let open port 9100.
