ATI IXP SB400 AC'97 Audio Controller

Gateway MX7120
Drivers on Gateway's website don't work. Missing Modem and Audio drivers. Both are SB400. User on DriverGuide recommended an HP driver that didn't work either. Can't find anything but other users with the same problem.

    no sound works with VISTA and linux but not xp????

Go to Control Panel - System - Device Manager and right-click on each of the hardware components where you need drivers. There will be a description of each item, so then you can download the drivers. Good luck

I was given a gateway 7405gx laptop with windows xp and there was a virus on it when i got it so i wipped the hdd clean did a fresh install of windows xp home and now i can't find 2 drivers one is for PCI...
this would be the driver for the modem
