Wont spin Makes noise when reaches spin cycle & motor sounds loud like its trying to spin but then shuts off. Then it takes approx. 10 minutes to reset and same thing happens, yet eventually after about 2 hours of restarting, it will finally go into spin and finish. I thought the belt was wore out but this is still happening with brand new belt. No water blockage, has new tub hose. I know it's not a frozen motor as it does work. Could it be a transmission problem?

Maybe could be, but it also could be that you have too many items in there. I have had the same problem and thought it was shot, then took some out and tried, worked like a charm. Good luck

I have an LG washing machine Model WM1814CW. It makes a loud clanking sound in the spin cycle and the back of the drum has a thick black greasy substance on it & has leaked onto the floor. What could...

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. It sounds like it is your spin bearings. It would explain the grease and the noise also. The spin bearings have to do with the spinning of the washer. Usually, if there are loud noises associated with the washer, it is either the motor drive or the spin bearing.

Machine will not spin or drain water.

I have a problem with my MW512AU. Sometimes it drains after wash cycle, but sometimes it sticks when it goes to spin, doesn't get up to speed, water comes on for about 10 seconds and shuts off, and it tries to spin again. If I hit the wash progress switch it goes directly to final spin and works ok. I then have to run a 2nd wash cycle to rinse the clothes. I also noticed a buzzing sound when I turn on the power point, which lasts about 3 seconds before stopping. It will come back on every 3-4 minutes for 30 seconds. This is with the machine power switch off. It powers on normally.

sounds like you are dealing with the same problem as me .
take off the front panel (after unplugging power) take a flash lite and look at the large pulley at the back just below the pulley is the helix check to see if they are worn .

Loud noise during spin cycle and agitator won't rotate

the machine is nknown to have bad main seals, in turn leading to the corrosion of the spin bearing, in which case makes it sound as if a helicopter is landing in your laundry room

Washer makes clunking noises.......

You didn't give to much detail about the noise, other then clunking. Does it sound like it's metal against metal? Does it sound hollow? When does the noise take place before, during or after the spin cycle.

The easiest thing to do is check to see if the motor is loose, or if you might have too much slop or slake in the belt, if you do then replace and readjust the belt.

Haier ESA 3185 AC won't cool; makes escalating loud vibrating noise near front panel/ filter

Have someone check the run capacitor of this unit. If the run capacitor is bad over shorted it can cause the unit to run and short cycle on a current overdraw. This makes for an electrical imbalance in the compressor motor. Next step is the compressor is faulty.

Frigidaire top-load washer Loud noise during spin

its either the upper spin bearing or lower spin bearing. the upper can be replaced by itself but the lower requires the transmission the be replaced

Washer makes a loud noise while trying to spin

The problem most likely what it sounds like is the motor coupler which cost somewhere around 20 bucks from a repair store or parts place. the motor coupler sits between the motor and the transmission and transfers motion from one to the other if its making a loud clicking sound that sounds like gears then thats it and you'll be surprised to see that its simply made out of rubber and plastic. Its a little bit of an advanced repair make sure to unplug the washer because u will have to drop the motor off to take the coupler off the transmission parts required flattip phillips head 1/4 nutdrive and something to put over the coupler to bang onto the motor and to the transmission. Gl its really not that hard a professional can do it in about 15 minutes it might take u an hour maybe make sure to take the whole cabinet off do not try to take it apart from the back
