Hi, It is lamp that need to be replaced. Lamp is not generating enough light to present bright picture on tv screen. Lamp replacement is easy and written in user manual of tv. Please buy Sony original lamp for good picture result in tv. Let me know if you have additional question. Thanks.
Most of the projection lamps are recommended to be replaced after 2 years. The older they get the more dim they will become. I would suggest replacing the lamp again. Some of the aftermarket lamps do not work as well as the factory replacement. I always spend the extra money and get one from Samsung.
souns like an over heating isue
try cleaning out the unit
take it to the local mechanic have him give your tv a ******* (with compressed air )
heck hes been screwing you so his kids can go to coledge for years whynot get a freebe?
Yes, if this TV has a bulb it is likely to be the bulb.
I am not familiar with this exact model, but other LCD Projection TV will show dim picture after some time. Expected life of the lamps is about 2yrs. After 2yrs the picture will become dim. After 5yrs I am suprised it is even working.
Dirt doesn't cause this problem unless your are a smoker or have the unit "literally" outside. DO NOT try to clean it or let someone tell you to do it because it will cause more problems than it fixes.
