Go to menu settings, make sure it is on air or CATV depending on what you are using. CATV is for cable or dish.
Then go to menu settings and find the "autoprogram" option and select it. It will scan any available channels. Let it run through completely.

Hi fixya I don't have card in PCMCIA slot am told it is not important, I am only watching free view channels not subscription channels all the channels are programmed onto the TV. When TV is connected to...

You don't mention the make or model of your TV, so I am having to take a few educated guesses here: I think you need the common interface module on the TV if it's not going through another receiver. The CIM basically is the thing that allows the broadcast signal to be decoded (free or not). The SkyBox has it's own card and is already doing the descrambling first and then just sends the signal on to your TV.

I am not sure what the "free view box" is that you are using, but it sounds like it doesn't have a decoder.

I have lost all my freeview channels on my samsung tv how do i get them back?

When you say free view i assume you mean all the free to air digital channels?
Simply make sure you have good reception and do a channel search and you should gain all the free to air channels, including digital channels if your tv has a built in set top box. Good luck.

How do i get my funai vcr to record from my freeview box. I can only record through my analogue channels. I have a funai vcr either 31B-750 or 31B-754 (PDC) and the freeview is an Astratc TopD2

hi, how is the free view running through the video?

Option 1(this is the most complicated way if you are using scart lead or the three color leads then skip to option 2)

if you using the normal arial socket ie arial from roof goes into free view then from free view into vid then vid into tell then what you need to do is make sure on the free view that you have a menu screen on the screen either tv guide or something that will stay on their.
Now put the video on a channel you dont use say 6 then you need to use the video remote and then enter the setup mode and then start the scanning process to look for the signal keep going until you get the menu screen that you opened on the free view then store this as channel 6 on the video.
Now when you want to record from the free view you put the video on channel 6 and put the free view on the channel you want to record.

Option 2:
If you free view box is using scart leads and has two scart lead outputs on the back, ie one for the telly and the other for the video, if you have it like this then plug telly scart into telly and video scart into video.

Now in the back of the video you should have scart lead coming from the free view, and maybe one coming from the video into the telly
If this is the case then all you need to do to record off free view is switch the video on the when you choose what channel you want to record instead of choosing 1 to 5 for normal channels you need to select av scroll down the channels past zero if you have not got av button once av is selected you should then see the free view channels try by pressing guide on the free view and put the video on av this should then let you see the free view via video if not dont worry press record for 5 min then rewind and press play it should now play back the free view you was just watching.

Option 3 now if you have it set up any other way just let me know how then i can assist you further ok.

If you have any problems following my instructions then just post me a message back and ill be glad to assist you further ok.

Many thanks for using fixya.com
