Panasonic plasma TV model TH-42PD60U won't turn on

I have Panasonic plasma TV model TH-42PD60U, and while we I was watching a movie, it suddenly it stopped working. I've unplugged the cables from the back of the TV and re-plugged it, I’ve changed the cable on the outlet and still nothing. There is no blinking, and when I click on the power switch, nothing is happening. What should I do?

I had this problem in 2007 / 2008 here is what happened to me. Jan 09, 2008 - I also have brought the unit to the authorized Panasonic repair facility and the problem is a failure in the P-board which is the power supply board. The P-board needs to be replaced. The repair will cost $475 plus tax. $250 is for labor. The unit was nop more than two months out of warranty. This does not speak well for Panasonic. I have been researching the problem and it looks like this has happened to many of the Panasonic plasma TVs.
Jun 14, 2008 - As an update to my problem with the failed P board. Contacted Panasonic Service and talked to a customer service representative. I told them how I have purchased many Panasonic products and how unhappy I was with the failure of the product. They proposed paying the labor cost of $250 and I would pay for the part. I just hope it does not happen again.

I turn on my Panasonic TH-42PD60U Television - red LED blinks and there is a clicking noise but TV doesn't turn on.

Panasonic plasmas are notorious for their power board problems.

I can't know which one of the few possibilities yours might have, but at the very least it is worth checking against the most common ones(s):

http://www.coppelltvrepair.com/p/54/repair-kit-for-panasonic-th-42px60u-panasonic-th-42px600u-and-panasonic-th-42pd60u

Read the listing, get a multimeter and check the described components for short or open (in case of a fuse) and if it matches then that's the problem and that's the solution.

For in-depth troubleshooting help consider using www.coppelltvrepair.com/diagnose - it's free to ask, but we may not always be able or willing to help and when we do we'll typically put a price on a consultation.

PANASONIC TH-42PD60U will not power on/no power light/have already replace power supply

If your power supply is new try to check the power cord..If you have a volt meter or multimeter range in AC..check the voltage input of your power supply it should have 110v to 240 volts depends on your electrical supply in your outlet..

If no voltage replace the power cord..Hope it helps..

Panasonic Plasma no sound, can't change channel

Yes the control board would definitely be the offender here. But a word of caution. Oftenj when this board goes 2 other boards are also compromised and not always obvious at the time people think they can just swap the board out.
It went for a reason, not just old age. So it is better and cheaper in the long run to get a professional to check it out.

Also from a safety aspect, this is the High Tension area of the TV. Also be aware that radiation of the X type is in abundance at the rear of the tube. The TV must be grounded when opening ( but my advice is dont!) Let the professional do it

Tv will not turn on

Had same problem, no turn on.
No blinks, by the way.
Checked fuses, everything is ok.
Had Panasonic tech check it, and he found that by disconnecting the DT (digital tuner) board, the system would "click".
He said $700 total to repair ($500 parts). I said no.
I got the TV to work, by unpluging and then pluging back the DT board WHILE POWER ON.
Now TV works, but if I turn the TV off I have to do the unplug plug sequence.
This is VERY DANGEROUS as there are high voltages in the TV, so I don't recommend it to anyone not trained.
My long term solution? Find a cheap DT board on ebay or WWW
