Pictures are not showing up.

I can see the pictures on the camera but when I insert the memory card into the laptop, the file is empty.
The "write protected" also appears when I turn on my camera and it is on shoot mode.
The pictures in there are really valuable and I really hope someone can help me out and tell me what to do.

SOURCE: Panoramic Pictures

If I remember my last Olympus camera it would only work in Panorama mode with an official Olympus memory card. No third party cards would enable that feature. My instructions read "An Olympus xD-Picture Card is required for panorama shooting." If you are using an official Olympus xD-Picture card, there may be a problem with your camera.

It has to go back the Olympus for replacement or to seller if less than one year.

SOURCE: "Card Full"

Try putting the card back in the laptop and formatting it FAT32 and not NTFS. Some cameras are not able to read the NTFS file system.

SOURCE: Write Protect error and I think all my pics dissapeared!

If you are using an SD card, it could be possible that the Write Protect tab (the yellow tab on the top right) is in the 'lock' position. Slide it back and try again. If this does not work, make sure you are using the card and not the internal memory to store images.

Sounds like you will need to format the memory card. This will permanently erase all the data from the card and then you will be able to use it again. To format the card: Press the Menu button - right arrow to Setup - right arrow to Format- You will see format yes or no. Choose Yes and press ok. This will clear the write protect message and the card can be used again.

MEMORY CARD SHOWING FULL BUT WHEN CAMERA CONNECTED TO DOWNLOAD TO LAPTOP OR DESKTOP ITS SHOWING FREE SPACE AND USED SPACE BUT NOT SHOWING ANY PICTURES AND VIDEOS,

Save the pictures and videos on the card. Try reformatting the card in the computer, and then again using the camera. The first reformat will ensure the card is empty, and then the camera reformat will ensure that it is recognized by the camera. If the camera reformat will not work, try a new card.

We have inserted sd-ms card onto our laptop to upload the photos onto FB.however the card when inserted back onto the camera, about 50 over images show, incompatible jpeg?how do we solve this issue?

The computer uses a small program to be able to upload pictures from the memory card once the pictures are safely on the computer hard drive hopefully you created a file folder for them then the memory card needs to be formatted in the camera. Formatting the memory card cleans the card and makes it compatible to the camera again. Every time you download images to the computer the memory needs formatting in the camera. Any new memory card needs formatting in the camera a card that has been formatted in the computer needs to be reformatted in the camera. Also please be aware that there is a protection lock on the side of the SD card and if placed in the incorrect orientation will actually lock the card from formatting or deleting files on the card. I'm going to include a diagram here to show you where this little switch need to be for the "unlock" position.

Switch needs to be towards the top of the card in the direction of the gold contacts

Took memory card out to show pictures in new laptop. When done put memory card back in camera. Camera shows number of pictures listed but when you try to view the pictures the memory card says that it is...

Possibly, but you may no longer be able to view them on your camera. If you hadn't saved your pictures to your computer yet, try to do so. If your computer also has a problem seeing the pictures, you may need to use recovery software (see this link). Finally, after you've saved your photos to your camera, you should format the card in your camera to rejuvenate the card. If prompted to format your card by your computer, don't do it. It uses a different file handling structure than your camera.

No memory space in internal memory. What does this mean?

This camera has small internal memory like 32MB to store few pictures and shows no memory space message after storing these few picture files.
You need to insert memory card in camera and go to menu and select Copy option to copy internal memory images into memory card then take out memory card from camera and delete internal memory pictures one by one or perform format memory to delete all of them at once.

Memory card shows empty on pc, but it does have pics and videos

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

My memory card is full and I want to transfer to my computer. I tried to transfer to internal memory but it says there isn't enough space. Anyway to transfer all at once instead of tagging individual...

Connect you camera to the computer using the USB cable. It will be shown as a removable drive(If the autorun is enabled windows should list the option to transfer pictures.Choose this option if it does so). Open the drive and and transfer the pictures to your computer.

Hope this helps,
Sai.

Missing pictures on sd card

I had success with this
1. Do not save any new file to memory card.
2. Connect your card to computer. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter (like H:) in My Computer.
3. Download SD card photo recovery software, recommended one is this photo recovery (simply because i was using it and it worked)
http://www.asoftech.com/apr/
4. Install and open the photo recovery program, select your memory drive, and click 'Start' button to start scanning process which will find your deleted photos.
