Your TV is most likely working ok. If you are using a satellite receiver then re-boot it by unplugging for 2 min then try again.

Testimonial: "glad to see that the TV may not be at fault. We have disconnected everything but nothing changed. Thanks for advice. Will call satelite provider."

I have an onkyo rc-742m remote and the volume button just stopped working, how can I fix it?

If someone can't increase volume and decrease it from remote (I assume batteries and technically the remote is ok and everything else works on it), just mute and unmute and now Onkyo will let you increase and decrease volume from the remote.

My volume on screne display does not work

do any of the controls show on tv? there is a video connection on the back of yamaha marked 'moniter out' and to get the on screen display, you must first have your tv connected to that video output.

I have a RCA XS Stero TV. I don't have remote. I connected DVD player right connections. But I am not getting any picture in the Screen. Actully it is showing Blue screen all the time. No TV picture also....

Sounds like you're stuck on..... Video 1 or Video 2 (whichever). If you can access your TV's menu at the front panel, you should be able to switch over fairly easy. Hit MENU. Using your VOLUME UP & DOWN buttons, Go to CABLE/SATELITE/ANTENNA, hit VOLUME UP or DOWN 'til it switches back to TV picture then hit ENTER. If you do not have an access panel in front but possibly have any other remote (cable or satelite or home theater, etc...) that can be paired with this TV and has an INPUT button, you can change the setting that way.

Hope this info was helpful. Good Luck!

My portable COby DVD player stopped working. DVD rotates when I put it in by screen remains black... With TV out option sound comes out and picture/sound shows on TV once I connect it to DVD

I have had some very bad luck with Coby products and am sorry to hear that you have too but please make sure that the connector jack is clean and functioning properly. The connection jack has a device inside it that knows when the plug is inserted and then sends the audio and video out to the TV. If the connector is really dirty it could be that the connector is not working properly.

There isn't a lot more to look at unless there is some obvious problem with the screen such as a loose wire or a broken hinge.

Prima HDTV has a black screen on TV, but works fine while Playing DVD

try turning the channel up or down with the tv remote to input 1 or 2 depending on which one is being used for the dvd player. tv should use input 1. dvd should be on input 2.
when turning the channel set it to show the dvd screen, then go up 1. if it doesn't show, return and go down 1.

Volume and menu does not display

I had this problem on my Aquos (LC-46D62U). It was NOT a hardware problem. I recommend turning off the television. Next unplug the television for 5 to 10 seconds. This resets something for the television. Plug it back in and turn on the television. You should now be able to get your volume and other on-screen displays.

Philips 27PS55S/121 sound level decreases

Yes, the dynamic range on DVD's is enough to cause the high and low passages to be somewhat annoying but, sounds more like a movie theater. This kind of dynamic range showed up first on Beta HiFi and VHS HiFi VCR's because of thier range as well. If there is a feature in your audio menus on your TV such as "audio expansion, SRS, Wide mode, etc." turn it off and let the audio be processed without expansion of any kind as that will amplify your dynamic range alot more. The lock up issue could be something Philips is aware about and if under warranty contact them. Otherwise not much you can do except manke sure the voltage going to the TV is failry stable between 110 volts and 120 volts. Sometimes dramatic drops and or increases can cause lock up or confusion to the microprocessor in the TV.

Video input from dvd player shows as black screen w/ squigly color lines

have you tried other devices for input...vcr, or other dvd players to see if it is a problem with the player or with the tv? Check the output setting for the dvd player (1080i etc) and ensure you are connecting to the proper inputs for either analog or digital signals (RCA inputs or RGB).
