This is the requirements for DVD Express. There are a lot of programs that are not compatible with Vista.

Minimum Requirements

  • Windows XP, 2000, 98, ME
  • Pentium II 450 MHz processor
  • 64 MB of RAM
  • Hard Drive free space of 10GB
  • DVD Burner (DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, or DVD+RW)
  • Blank DVD Media (DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, or DVD+R

You might consider to partition your hard-drive so you can run XP on it too and be able to run programs like this one. Hope this helps, sorry for you luck. Let me know if I can help you with anything else.

If it truly needs a driver then install patin-couffin It will bypass all that windows uses now and accurately talk between drives and the dvd-rom. But it sounds to me that your dvd-rom just failed. You never know when they are going to go

Intel DQ965GF Motherboard won't load WIN OS (WINXPPro volume disk or Win7) tho an old Dell disk did load. Is there a fix? Thz

Hello here is the homepage:

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Desktop+Boards&ProductLine=Intel%C2%AE+965+Express+Chipset+Family+Boards&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+Desktop+Board+DQ965GF

Windows 7 is not a supported system, but you can use the drivers from the vista system, but only the 32 bit.

Turn on or restart your computer and watch for a message during the post about a particular key, usually Del or F2, that you'll need to press to ...enter SETUP. Press this key as soon as you see the message.

After the post, BIOS will attempt to boot from the first device listed in the boot order. You need to change that, so the first boot device in the list is the dvd drive. If that device is not bootable, BIOS will attempt to boot from the second device listed, and so on.

Note: The boot order is a BIOS setting so it's OS independent. In other words, it doesn't matter if you have Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Linux, or any other PC operating system on your hard drive or other bootable device, these boot sequence change instructions will still apply.

Here is how you do this:

http://www.hiren.info/pages/bios-boot-cdrom

But ofcourse there could be a problem with the dvd drive or harddrive.

To install windows 7, you will need at least 1 gb ram or more, and a dual core cpu.

Best of luck

XFX 750I Motherboard w/ SLI Can not locate the SATA Driver ( Can not load WIN-Vista ) Help

You will get to a point in Vista set up where it asks you what drive/partition you want to install to. Obviously the window which should contain the drive information is empty because Vista can't see the hard drive yet. At the bottom of this windows there's a "Load Drivers" button. Make sure your XFX motherboard CD is in the dvd drive then click the Load Drivers button. Now you should be able to browse the CD. The SATA drivers will either be in a folder called RAID or a floder called SATA. Just click on the correct folder containing the drivers and click OK. Vista should now load the SATA drivers and your drive/s will appear in the window.

If this doesn't work then I suggest you register on XFX's website and go to the support section and download the driver from there:

DVD burn with DVD X-copy not completing finalizing mode

"Is this what is causing the "finalizing" to not complete the burn?" ... Almost certainly yes. You need to update/reinitialize your Patin Couffin engine device drivers(s).

Referer: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Patin_Couffin_access_layer.htm
Download: http://www.freecodecs.net/fc/patin-couffin_37.zip
  1. Download the stand-alone installation package.
  2. After download is complete, close all other applications, then run it.
  3. Restart (reboot) your system.
  4. Test by re-performing the same procedure(s) which previously failed and generated the error dialog (pop-up).
