SOURCE: No picture and only buzzing sound coming from plasma with cracked screen

sounds like you may have a high voltage arc and / or leak . better to let a manufacturers qualified technician have a look at it this time . ask for an estimate after diagnosis and before repairs are made. factor age plus repair cost v/s a replacement tv . also in the area where i live most in shop repair estimates are cheap or even free . field repair estimates are definitely not . all tv parts can be replaced but, screen replacements can get expensive . barring neglect , abuse or a significant power surge you should not be having these problems on a tv so new. double check your warranty. most electronics come with 1 year on parts ,90 days on service. some warranty limitations are not allowed in certain states. also contact the manufacturer . in my expierence some of the better companies have honored an expired warranty partlialy and sometimes even fully on a relatively new product . after all they do have reputation to lose or keep . just be courteous and if your lucky they will be too. but if all else fails, i personaly prefer lcd flatscreen . oh , about the screen crack , clean and position your tv according to the owners manual . some of todays televison components are even more thermaly and chemicaly sensitive than ever . ie; window cleaner can whiten or even crack certain types plastics. finaly if you are not using a good surge protector now may be the time.
good luck

SOURCE: 50 " Samsung Plasma TV

I purchased a 50 inch Plasma Samsung TV last June 2009. The plasma screen cracked as well in December 2009. No evidence of physical damage. Samsung first said it was normal wear and tear. So we argued that it was still under warranty. I had the TV less than 5 months. As well they refused to send a technician to look at it because I am from a small town, but they do sell the TV's here. So we sent in pictures as per request of Samsung customer service. Then then changed their story and said it was physical damage. To top it off, the customer service rep refused to even talk to us anymore to try and explain their decision.

So after a month of fighting and getting nowhere, we went to the business where we bought the TV. They told us they would fight Samsung over this issue. After a week they told us the same thing. So now I was supposed to just accept the fact my TV was broken and walk away, however, the fight was not over. My girlfriend messaged the head office of the company from which we bought the TV, and they said they would try and work with samsung to resolved the issue. Two months of waiting to find that Samsung refuses to answer them as well. So we made arrangements to have the TV driven to closest city 3 hours away, where it was taken t an approved Samsung repair center. Their technician says it wasn't our fault and forwards the paperwork to Samsung. STILL Samsung refuses to replace our TV. They say they are going to still go by the pictures, instead of listening to the repair center. We immediately launched a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I advise everyone else to do the same. Get the word out how crooked Samsung really is to everybody.

I started a facebook page to promote this fact. "Samsung is screwing me Around". Please join and tell your story. Invite anyone you know that may be fighting with Samsung as well.

My LG 42pc1DV has sound normal but picture just died and is blacl, before this happened I had a lot of green pixels that only showed up across screen on dark pictures, 4 year old and just out of warrenty

Either your Y sustain board went out or your upper and lower Y buffer boards went out. Worst case scenario is your panel went out. But you won't know without replacing the other boards first.

42 inch LG Plasma TV - Lost picture

Most likely what happened is one of the capacitors went bad. When a capacitors goes bad it produces a popping sound. This could be an easy and cheap fix if you find the bad capacitor or capacitors. The bad capacitor will have a bulging top most likely on the power board but could be anywhere.

Loud pop Blank screen 42 inch Viore Plasma

Unfortunately, that board is the inverter board. And for this model the inverter board is only supplied with the the PDP panel. The panel is quite expensive, here's a link if needed:

42 inch LG Plasma TV - Lost picture

Our LG 50" plasma tv screen went black after a popping noise but still had sound, after great diliberations decided to take the back off and have a peek!
We unplugged the tv and tested the fuses (there were three we could see) one had blown, the one on the left as you look at the back of the tv it also has one above it. We wrote the code/seriel number down and took the fuse to the electrical wholesalers Maplin and bought a pack of 10 fuses for £1.29 replaced the fuse in the tv and everything now fine!!!!!!
Hope this might be of use to anyone whose lost the picture after a loud popping/snacking noise but still has sound.
