2002 Honda CRV reminder beeper does not sound if the key is left in the ignition also it does'nt beep if the lights are left on. The doom light do not go on when drivers door is opened . Where is the door switch located ?? Update I fixed this , Was a Broken door switch. Get's broken by leaving the seat belt buckle in door jar. Pull the rubber cover and check for broken plunger. ,Can fix with supper glue .
You should start by checking fuses, switch located on door pillar where door hinges are.sounds like a blown fuse or bad beeper,
Testimonial: "This helped me fix the problem of a broken switch. The switch had come apart. Removed it , snapped it back together and reinstall it. Everything OK"
where exactly is the beeper, both my wife and I have searched, even with a stethoscope, and the sound seems to move aroun. Also this happened last year and replacing the ignition switch helped for 9 months, replacing the switch again did not help this time. The beeping may go on for a week, beefore the car cuts off. iT WILL USUALLY RESTART IN 10 OR 15 MINUTES ??where exactly is the beeper, both my wife and I have searched, even with a stethoscope, and the sound seems to move aroun. The key reminder (so you don't leave your keys in the ignition by accident). There is a sensor in the lock cylinder that picks up the key. Usually a small two wire plug on the bottom side of the lock cylinder. Unplugging it should disable the sensor.
PUT IN A NEW IGNITION SWITCH. THE KEY BUZZER IS INTERGRAL TO THE IGNITION SWITCH. IT ALARMS WHEN KEY IS LEFT IN THE CAR OR IF IT IS BROKEN IT ALARMS FOR ALL YOUR REASONS.
SERVICE INTERVAL REMINDER If equipped with a service reminder flag, the oil and oil filter service interval reminder flags will activate after every 7500 miles of operation. To reset indicators, insert ignition key into slots below indicator flags at lower right corner of instrument cluster. Push key in until reminder window changes from Red to Green.
does the key reminder work?? if so then there could be a problem with the tail light relay which feeds the body control module, that feeds the gauge module which feeds the beeper. I would advise taking it to the dealer, or a shop that does a lot of HONDA work. ,
The Body Control Module (BCM) controls the audible warnings. Refer to Body Control System Description in Body Control System for more information regarding the BCM.
The body control module (BCM) controls these reminders:
• Key in ignition reminder: An audible warning intended to remind the driver that the key has been left in the ignition cylinder. The BCM sounds the chime for this reminder at a rate of 150 chimes per minute.
• Fasten seat belt reminder: An audible warning intended to remind the driver at the beginning of the driving cycle that the driver's seat belt is unfastened. The BCM sounds the chime for this reminder at a rate of 50 chimes per minute.
• Fasten belts indicator control: A visual warning intended to remind the driver that the driver's seat belt is unfastened.
• Parking brake reminder: An audible warning intended to remind the driver that the parking brake has been left applied with the transaxle shifted out of PARK. The BCM sounds the chime for his reminder at a rate of 200 chimes per minute.
• Turn signal reminder:
An audible warning intended to remind the driver that the turn signal has been left on while the vehicle has traveled over 1.2 km (¾ mile). The BCM sounds the chime for this reminder at a variable rate (in unison with the turn lamps on) of 90 chimes per minute.
• Headlamps ON reminder: An audible waring intended to remind the driver that the headlamps have been left on. The BCM sounds the chime for this reminder at a rate of 200 chimes per minute.
• Last door closed locking confirmation: An audible warning intended to provide the driver feedback that the last door closed locking feature is active. The BCM sounds the chime for this remainder at a rate of 200 chimes per minute.
• Feature customization and diagnostics feedback: An audible feedback used when changing feature customization modes. Also used by service technicians during the BCM diagnostics. The BCM sounds the chime during the feature customization, and also during diagnostics. Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) for additional information.

YES - Go to Step 2
NO - Go to Diagnostic System Check - Body Control System in Body Control System

Check for Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). Refer to Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check (LX5) or Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check (L36) in Engine Controls for more information.
Are there any PCM DTCs present?
--
Go to Appropriate DTC Table in Engine Controls
Go to Step 3

Connect a scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC).
Using scan tool, select BCM data display inputs and monitor the park brake switch input.
While observing the scan tool, apply and then release the park brake.
Does the scan tool indicate that the park brake input is off while the park brake is released?

Turn the ignition switch off.
Disconnect the scan tool from the DLC.
Disconnect the BCM connector C1.
Release the park brake.
Using a test light, connect between B+ and the BCM connector C1 terminal D5.
Is the test light off?

try testing or replaceing the drivers door lock actuator, reprogram ur key fobs and try unlocking and locking ur doors. as far as the lights and reminder,....it sounds like a seperate problem. but try the door actuator first (drivers side always act up and cause every other actuator to act up... like a bad kid that gets the rukkus started and ruins things for everyone..
it can be reset from the over head buttons, with the door closed and the key on i believe you push step a few times until you see 0 miles left or something like that then hold reset.
I had the problem as I posted earlier today. I got a part from my local Honda dealer. It was part # 35400s5a013 switch assembly and is on the drivers side door column. It took me about 5 minutes to switch it out with a socket wrench. The part cost me $4.77 plus tax but could not get it from Autozone or NAPA. Hope this helps.
