My 50" samsung makes a clicking noise continuesly when pluged in the screen will come on for mabye 10-15 seconds then cuts bk off to continous clicking???? it has recently been moved from house to house carefully althought was layed on its back. sum1 may also have plugged a kettle wire to power it but i dont know for sure or if this would even be the reason.
There is a problem with the power supply. The clicking is the power regulator continuously turning on and off. This was most likely caused by a power surge.
The first thing to check is a visual inspection of the power supply and look for bad capacitors. This can be done by looking for ones that look bubbled where the top metal part with the T is ballooning out. If you see any, replace these with the correct voltage and fared rating (both located on the capacitor itself) by soldering them onto the power supply.
This will fix the problem most of the time but the power surge could had also damaged other components in the power supply so if you are not comfortable with soldering or did not see any bubbled capicators, or replacing the capicators did not fix the problem replace the power supply board.
