Power light blinking

When I turn on my system (AV-589). I press the on/off button and the on/standy by light is orange. Then I press the on/stanby button and it blanks green 5 times and then goes to a fast blinking orange light. I tried unplugging everything from the unit and tried to turn it on and samething happened. My unit was brought in 2/09 and is still under warranty.

Nintendo wii will not turn on, standy by light is not on anymore, tested for electricity with tester, system was hot, don't know what's wrong.

I had a similar problem to this. I had a 3rd party AV cord not from Nintendo, The Wii would not start up. It would not get pased the red light. Sometimes, The LED would show no color at all. so, I tried this. I unplugged the AV cord from the Wii, put the power on and pressed the button. It turned on! for the first time in months! So then I put the AV cord in and the system short circuited. I dug up the OEM cord and tried it, It works like it was out of the box! Try replacing your AV cord and power cord
