If the rest of the dryer is operating, make sure the exhaust is not blocked any where from the lint screen to the outlet damper outside. If it's clear then you will need a meter to diagnose further.

Sounds like the dryer drum roller with bearing. you may need to access this and make sure it did not destroy the shaft also. To access this you have to get it from the front of the dryer unit. remove the screws for the door and remove door there are screws on the opposite side also then the front pops off with a little force.
This is an easy repair if you have the tools. You can get the part from here www.techray1.com and click on the guru guy then use the drop down menues to select your parts. I also suggest buying the service manual. this site is the cheapest I could find
How do you replace the glides/slides? I have a Maytag dryer that's
squeaking, took off front and it's clear it's the glides. Found where
to buy them just need directions for replacing. Anyone know how?
To change the glides you have someone lift the drum--after taking off the front panel--and pull out the glides. We bought the glides locally and just ordered on line the felt pads that go under the glides, as one was missing. So I haven't actually completed the project but should easily be able to once the felt pads arrive.
if replacing the rollers didn't fix the squeak, you need to replace the teflon drum slides and drum gasket material. mine sqalled so much it would run you out of the room. now it's quiet.
