It looks like the unit has a code programmed into it in the past. If this unit is second hand try contacting the previous owner for the code. If it's new from the shop, then contact the shop. The last option is to contact Kenwood and they can reset the code for you. Unfortunately there is no other way...

while keeping the button pressed, press the
button for 3 seconds, while keeping both of these pressed at the same
time, press the small button next to the
button using something sharp...
this hard resets the system and it reboots to a blank screen,
press the button once and you have all the options working.
It won't ask you for a password unless you entered one before you took it out. If you have proof of purchase you can contact Kenwood and they will help you reset it.This is an anti-theft feature. if you had entered a password and then someone stoled it from your call they could not use it unless they had the password. Like i said earlier it would not ask for a passwprd unless you had put one in when you were using it.If you had registered it with Kenwood when you bought it they aould tell you how to reset the unit.
i forgot my password to my kenwood ddx-6019 dvd player and the codes that you listed didn't reset it is there any other codes that might work??? or is there like a reset button that i am supposed to push please help me out same problem
Try updating the ipod software from the kenwood website, I had the same problem and it worked for me. My album artwork didnt work either until I updated the software.
