Hi I have a BEKO fridge Frezer just over 1 year old. has been working very well so far. noticed tonight it has gone quiet. internal fridge light still working, but even with thermostat dial turned up can hear no compressor running. It is full of food for Christmas so do not want to leave it too long. Is there an automatic defrost cycle it could have gone into. Is there any way of easily finding out if it is working.??

hi i have same problem one of my lodgers left the door open and it froze thick with ice i defrosted it and let it dry for 3 days and was fine for a couple of days then it defrosted so i switched it of for 24 hours it worked fine for a day before it defrosted again could you email me with any help thanks [email protected] matt
s it should the ambient temperatures that you said are way to cold to expect the freezer to operate properly. move it indoors and or contact the manufacture and see if the have a kit to put on the unit to work properly.
just about all friges work off the frezer .the evap fan moves the air fromthe frezer to the frig.so you would here fan noise.i dont know your brand but on most frezers if you turn the frezer temp to the highest setting thats acomplished by keeping the air from going to the frige.hence warmer frig temps .also make sure fan on out side back is working and condenser is clean.again turn air damper control from frezer to frige to lowest setting .somthimes this could be in frig section.God bless ,tom
cycling every 30 mins is normal. bear in mind that frost free are more noisy as there are fans running as well.
you appear to have temp in freezer too high - should be -18degC
