Question about Dewalt DW056 18 Volt Cordless Impact Driver - 1/4" Drive Hex Shank (Battery Charger and Case Not Included) - Tool Only

Dewalt battery charger won't charge

DW9107 unit has a blinking red light when you try to insert the battery for charging. Yesterday, it was solid red for several hours when this is a one hour charger. Any advice?

I see on the internet that the unit was recalled in 2000 with certain date stamps. Where would I find that? is it actually stamped into the bottom of the plastic followed by the initials DB?

As you know, solid red on your charger means that the battery is fully charged and the BLINKING red light means the battery is charging. Unless the light is blinking irradically everything is working the way it is supposed to. If the light is blinking irradically, the battery may just be too hot or too cold to charge ( like when you are driving many lags and your battery dies) and in this case simply wait 15 minutes to charge. If you get a fast blinking light still, the problem probably is with the battery.

Add a CommentBad? So you are saying that a hot/cold delay indication and a replace battery indication are both bad batteries? If that is the case then why have the hot/cold indication at all?

You must have put in a battery pack that was already charged, the second time you went to use your charger, I'm guessing that you are not real familiar De Walt power tools and when you saw the solid red light maybe you thought it was broken?
On the front of your charger right above "De Walt" there a "scale" that tells you the 5 different red light indicators.
If you took that Batt pack out of charger and put it back in your cordless and used it for 2 minutes and put it back in charger the"red indicator light" would start to blink.... PLEASE READ. You can really damage or shorten the life of any battery pack by charging it when there is ANY charge even a small charge left in the pack- so you want to only charge battery pack when the drill wil not move inside the battery pack are like 18 0r 20 rechargeable batteries if any cell inside the battery has a charge it you will damage it and it wont hold a full charge every again...

What does a orange power light mean

please see the commentary. God bless you

  • The majority of laptops will display a solid green, blue or purple battery light to indicate that the battery is fully charged. Most manufacturers indicate that a laptop is in the process of charging by displaying a solid or blinking green, orange, blue or purple light. If your battery indicator light is green, blue or purple, the battery is probably functional, regardless of whether the light is blinking. If the light is solid orange, the laptop is probably in the process of charging.

Battery Error Coneventions

  • Many battery manufacturers use rapidly blinking lights to indicate that a battery's charge level is low. In general, a laptop will rapidly blink orange or red when its charge drops below a certain level until the computer is plugged into a power outlet and charged. If your laptop's battery indicator continues to blink rapidly in orange or red or if it remains red even when it is plugged into the charger, it indicates a problem with your battery or the charger.

I purchased a new charger for my Dewalt Cordless drill and the red light just blinks. Is this normal

They usually have a little pic on there that tells you what the blinking means. I think it is charging, but sometimes it needs a green light too. Check it out. Mine flashes all kinds of signals, when it hits a dead battery, one that won't charge, it flashes something else. It only takes an hour to charge. Is the battery getting charged at all? Hope this helps.

When charging battery flashes red then stays on red.how long should it take to change to green?.its a dewault9130 18 volt

it doesn't change to green, the solid red light means it is fully charged, there should be a legend on the front of the charger to help you with this. If it flashes real fast the battery is malfunctioning and slow flashing is charging and again solid is fully charger.

Battery charger flashing red light

Clean contact points of both battery and charger with q-tips dipped in rubbing alcohol. This solved my problem with blinking lights and not charging of the batteries.

Battery Charger Olympus li-40c

I had this problem a few weeks ago (i.e. flashing red LED). All I did was remove the power plug from the charging unit, turned it around 180 degrees, then plugged it back into the charging unit. Red LED came on steady & the battery (which is the one that came with the camera) recharged as normal.

WON"T WORK

sounds like a dead battery. Plug the origional charger into it and the front led (below the flash) should flash red. If the red led in the back of the camera flashes or stays lit, then you have the wrong charger plugged in. (the camera won't power up if the back red/green led is on when plugged in)
