I have a simon 2 system ( came with the house we just bought ) As soon as I plug in the battery the alarm goes off. How do I stop that, reset the alarm and start using it? Thanks

Everyone: If you are not going to answer the question DON’T POST. The question is not how to install a new battery. The question is not how to reset the system. original poster knows the battery is low. They know that pressing status tells them the problem. They know pressing disarm stops the beeping alarm for only 4 hours. The problem is it takes DAYS to get a replacement battery because only found through mail order. The unit runs on AC. So how do we get it to stop being annoying short of killing the AC, and pulling the battery -which is not logical to have to disarm for days just to get the darn thing to stop being annoying.
How to keep protecting my house, using the available AC power, without annoying alarm beeping during the night and starting its every minute beeping every four hours all day. Totally bad design if no way to shut up a known battery problem.
temperature affects batteries. if the batteries on the window sensors have been in use for some time it is probably time to change them. Alarm batteries are only expected to last 3 to 5 years with moderate use. If you have close neighbors or live in an apartment complex then false reads could be a factor.
Smoke sensors will trip if dust accumulates in them. Get a can of compressed air like they sell for cleaning the vents in computers and try blowing the dust out. That should reset your sensors, If not you could disable the fire sensors for your trip and get it serviced when you return.
On Simon panels, the master code should default to 1234 if it's been powered down for several hours (I can't remember how long, at least four hours, possibly 12-16). So, unplug it from the wall and disconnect the system battery and leave it for the night. Power it up by plugging in the battery first and plug it into the wall. Then enter the code as 1234. It should annouce that the alarm system is disarmed. If so, your code is 1234. ;)
When removing the battery, be very careful to not break the little tab that holds it shut! Can't stress that enough.
The default for option 10 is 30 seconds and option 11 is 60 seconds.
It sounds like option 10 is turned off because when turned off the entry delay is set to 005 seconds. All entries must be 3 digits.
You ca set option 10 and 11 from 005-254 seconds. Hope this helps
Response 1 is correct. If you plugged the transformer into an outlet before connecting the battery the system wont see the battery and give you that error. Should be a simple fix however. Unplug the battery and then the transformer, then reverse the process. Plug in the battery and your Simon should power up, then plug in the transformer. If this doesn't help then you should replace the battery. Did you buy the system from a dealer and have it professionally installed or did you do-it-yourself? If it was professionally installed have your technician come back out to diagnose/replace the battery if needed. Good Luck.
