Microwave wont come on at all.

On the JVM2070- and PVM2070-series microwaves, GE does not make service information or separate parts available.

So when you have an error with the controller that does not involve the smart board (and this error does not) then you have to order the control panel subassembly, which on your model (PVM2070SM1SS) is part number WB07X11143 and you can get it from the Pros here for $477.83 (subject to change).

It's very expensive but it's actually simple to replace that part yourself.

You would remove the control panel assembly as shown in our video here, then remove your smart board and attach it to the new control panel subassembly.

If it's under warranty or GE Customer Service would give you a break on the the part cost, that would be a big plus for you.

If you have access to where your microwave is plugged in, unplug it for a few minutes and then plug it back in. This will reset your contol panel. Then follow your book directions to reset the time on the clock. Hope this helps!

This is a common problem, and they're often intermittent.

You'll need a new touch screen.

1. Unplug the microwave or turn off its breaker.

2. Open the door, then detach the control panel as shown in the video at http://www.microwavedisplay.com and swing it down, but without disconnecting the wires.

If you have any trouble getting the grille off once the screws are removed, slide the hood vent grille to the left about 1/4", then then pull it forward.

On some models there are L-shaped clips that fit into a slot to hold bottom of the vent.

what this is trying to tell you is that your control panel is starting to go out due to a failure in the controle assembly
yes it is feasable to replacethe panel youwill just have to contact the manufacture of the microwave and get a replacement panel/ controle board ok

Board needs to be replaced

• Make sure that the microwave is plugged into a grounded outlet. It must be a 3-prong outlet.
  
• Make sure the clock is set.
• Check to see if a programming sequence was entered. Sometimes improper programming or a program sequence such as delay start can cause the touch panel to be non-responsive. Unplug microwave or turn off house circuit breaker for 30 seconds. Plug back in, or reset circuit breaker, and try reprogramming unit.
  
• Check the house circuit breaker or fuse box. If the microwave is DEAD and there is no display and nothing works- the problem could be a blown fuse or tripped breaker.

The only thing you can do is re set the main board, unplug the unit fot a minimum of 1 hour then try it again, if not you main board is out (this is caused by replacing the light bulbs with out unplugging the micro most of the time) If it is not in warranty I would advise to replace rether than repair, you get an average of 7 years out of them these days. there are screws either on top of or in the grille that allow you to remove it. after screws are removed, open the door, pull lightly toward you starting at the control side if it does not pull, then it may have to be pushed toward the hinge side, then pulled out. behind the grille, is the screw attaching the control panel. lift the panel up before pulling out. Just to add a thought,if the display lights up it is probably not the fuse, although, in some models there is a high voltage fuse, it is pretty rare.
