Facebook first froze on my blackberry and then will not let me login. will not let me change my password. I have friends that can send me messages that I can't open.

First, download and install the latest version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager software from: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/contactFormPreload.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22&dl=DA5FB46338C8C0DCB1039F7898184FC5

Once installed, connect your BlackBerry to your computer via the USB sync cable. Open Desktop Manager, and click the Application Loader. On the right, you will see Update your device software. Click the Start Button, and if your BlackBerry is not on the latest Handheld Software, an update will appear. Select the update, and run the install. Be sure to select the option that backs up and restores your data. Once started, do not shut down your computer, or disconnect the USB sync cable as this could damage the device.

Once completed, your BlackBerry will restart and you will have the latest version available. This version has been known to correct various issues.

If the issue is still present, then it could be hardware related, and may need to be repaired or replaced. I would then suggest contacting your Provider for Hardware Support.

Hi
Rather than deactivate it, you might try changing the login password to something else and in particular make it very difficult to guess using upper & lower case letters, special characters, and numbers. To do this either login as usual and click on the black arrow on the right of the blue bar at the top. From the menu click on settings and you will be able to see Passwords. Click here and you enter your existing password and then the password you want to change to (needs entering twice). This should stop your unwanted "friend" as they need to log in to send messages to your proper friends.
If you can't log into your account then use the link "Forgotten your password" on the login page, follow the instructions and you will again be able to change your password.
If all else fail, go here: (you don't need to sign in)

It appears that the hacker changed the password. Contact Facebook to have them change the password and send the new password to you. However before doing that create a new email account with a secure service, e.g. gmail, and have Facebook sent the new password to that. If you keep your password list on your computer, be sure that you encrypt it with a program such as Meo. It may be that your computer is not secure and a hacker has or had access to it. Good luck.

As a first step you should change/reset your password immediately. You can do that on the Facebook website: https://www.facebook.com/help/213395615347144

In addition if you have a supported mobile device you can enable login approvals on Facebook which then will secure your account and require your password and a code sent to your mobile phone to sign in. https://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=10150172618258920

Facebook is probably either doing some updating, or it may actually be having some server issues. Try again after a while and see if the problem has been resolved. As for messages being sent to your friends without your knowledge, I would recommend changing your login password, just in case someone has your login information. Hope this helps.
