Westinghouse LTV-46w1HD The TV was working perfectly, we bought it at Sams Club in November of 2006 its just a month and a year old. The TV suddenly has no picture, however it does have sound and we can here the channels switch, and the volume works when we press the buttons. We called Wesdtinghouse, after calling Westinghouse twice and walking thru several things, nothing worked. We don't have an extended warenty. Any ideas on what to do before we call a repair man. I'm sick about it, please any advice? Thank you, Eva Bastide [email protected]
I am having the same problem with the Factory Refurbished unit I bought. I just bought and received it this week 12/28/07. It seems to me that it happens mostly when the screen is cold but not sure if this is the cause of it. The person I talked to at Westinghouse said it could also be something with an internal circuit board. I'm working out a solution with Westinghouse to see what we can do about it if this problem continues. I am within my warranty period.I am having the same problem with the Factory Refurbished unit I bought. I just bought and received it this

That TV is about 12 years old and is wearing out. It will cost you more to repair than purchase a new one. If you keep frying to use it this machine will eventually just quit. It will cost 50.00 just to look at it.
Take it back to Sams Club and explain to them what happened - 95% chance they'll exchange it because Costco in California does. I believe they are owned by the same company. Hopefully you still have the receipt.
I have a Westinghouse 46" LTV-46w1 HD and it turned out to be the T-Con board which I found a used replacement board at Shop Jimmy’s. It cost around $70.00 with shipping. My TV was purchased in 2006 and it running better than ever… again!
The bulbs aren't normally covered after the first year. Some extended warranty companies used to cover the bulbs after that, but now since the economy is bad... a lot of companies are trying to save money by not covering the lamps anymore. And the ones that did are handing the warranties over to other companies. You probably will just have to buy one yourself or you will just be chasing your tail.
One of two symptoms on this model (LTV-32W6HD)
Blue light comes on but cannot shut off.
No picture;
OR
No picture but sound is OK.
1: In both cases replace ALL the electrolytic capacitors onthe output side of the power supply. This should get the power switch to worknormally.
2: Replace the small tiny wee little tiny small 2.0A fuse onthe inverter board labeled F1.
This is the small black fuse, not the slightly bigger whiteones labeled F2 and F3.Ta Da...all fixed.
Sounds like pixel problems, this could be a bad panel or board inside tv. I would contact manufacturer and see if they have policy with bad pixel panel. Even with out of warranty try anyways.
