Sounds like you are doing everything right. Only things I can think of are:
- Make sure the disc is a blank one.
- Try a different disc.
- Make sure the tape you are trying to dub is not encoded with Macrovision copyguarding. If it is a home-made recording then you are OK, but a factory recording on a store bought tape may cause some difficulties.
If you are still having troubles try a complete 15 minute reset by unplugging from the power source.
Hi. What I am trying to establish from my last question is whether the laser has become heat sensitive or whether there is a bit of dust buildup on the spindle table that might be causing the disc to have excessive wobble.
If the disc has excessive wobble, then the machine will have trouble tracking the outer tracks and will constantly skip as you have described after say 30 to 45 minutes.
If the laser has become heat sensitive then the same problem could potentially occur - The only difference being that if you were to restart the movie at that point, then the skipping would continue even at the beginning of the movie.
The first problem (wobble) is easy to fix - Clean the spindle table, the second problem may render the unit uneconomical to repair.
my phillips mx 3660D digital surround dvd system won't read the movies any more it says no disc.It will play music cd's beautifully ok whats the problem? help it was playing fine
Try to reset the blu ray player's remote control. Remove the batteries and hold down the POWER button on it for 30 seconds. Then replace the batteries with fresh ones
One of the motors in the mechanism died making a near short circuit. When the DVD tries to energize the motor, a lot of current passes through the circuits making the PSU protection to shut down the power supply to avoid damage or fire. To get the movie out, you'll have to disassemble the DVD player and remove the disk. After that the DVD will be unusable because of the failing motor. The replacement often is more expensive than buying a new Chinese DVD player.
laser problem just trash it. I got one that have the problem 2 months after purchase and was sent back to manufacturer after another 3 months I'm getting disc error. I guess they have a problem on the laser reading assy
Sounds like the power supply in the dvd player has failed. It works just well enough to turn on the led infront but as soon as you go to do anything it shuts off. This is common in cheaper dvd players. Unless you can troubleshoot electronics. Or know someone that can. Your best bet is to unplug the unit and disassemly and retrieve your dvd.
