In order to set up my VCR to record, I need the 3-digit VCR code. The technician was here and tried to get my system (I have Bell ExpressVu) to recognize my VCR automatically. It went through a number of tests and wasn't successful. So what I need is the 3-digit VCR code for my SDV395 unit so I can set it up manually.

Bell expressvu

Just try a code search method. Refer the remote control's manual for details. If it too doesn't help you, there is no other way than buying an other remote control, which have setup codes to your device, in its code list.
If you wish to buy its original remote control, you have to contact the authorized service center. If you wish to buy a universal remote control, you should know about, which brand remote control have setup code to your TV/device brand. You should first make sure about the number of digits in the codes to your device have. There are 3-digit, 4-digit, 5-digit and even 2-digit codes. You can get this detail by the code list attached to every universal remote control. The brand name of the remote control you select isn't a matter; but, its code list should have setup codes to your TV/device brand, otherwise you can't set it up with your device. Check this link and note which brand remote control have set-up codes to your device brand, and buy that brand remote control, according to availability. For more information http://electrohelponline.blogspot.com/ Setup procedure, and setup code list to many popular remote controls are given. Pull up older posts.

Need 3 digit code for controlling sony rdr-gx7 dvd recorder with my time warner cable remote.

This is a common problem for the Sony RDR-GX7 dvd recorder.
It seems to occur with various remotes (DirectTV, Bell ExpressVu or in your case, the time warner cable remote).
In most cases, the problem can be solved by using a different remote frequency from the system menu as follows:
Insert a dvd and make sure it is not playing (stopped).
Enter the System Menu then / Setup / Options / Command Mode (this can be done from the access panel on the front of the unit). There are 3 possible values, (DVD1, 2 or 3), try changing it.
Then enter one of the suggested codes for your Warner remote (in my case, for Bell ExpressVu I selected the DVD1 command mode
and I used 883 as the 3-digit code. The up and down arrows are not functional with this code but I bypass this problem by entering the menu item number. Good luck!

Need remote code for programming a bell expressvu receiver

Here for the Jensen remote just click below;

Here is link to the manual:

http://www.remotecodelist.com/remotes/jensen/JR300C.pdf

Here is some helpful information I found:
Without the code on JER-323:
1.Manually turn on the component you want the remote to control.
2. Press the device button, example:( TV) and the (power button) for 3 seconds until the (on/off button stays lit).
3. Once the (on/off) button is lit, press the (on/off) button until the unit (the TV or unit you are trying to control.) turns off.
4. When the code is located, press the (stop) button at the bottom to save the code.
Here are some codes I found for the Jensen 323:
GE VCR: 2000, 2013, 2021, 2022, 2053, 2087, 2089, 2091, 2115, 2120

I have an RCA universal remote and I need a code for a Bell ExpressVu satellite in order to use the remote for both my TV and Satellite.

004 was the only code I could find for Bell but i do not think it will work. Therefore, i recommend the following:
Programming a Device using Code Search:

  1. Manually turn ON your device (TV, VCR, Cable Box)
  2. Press and "HOLD" CODE SEARCH
  3. Press and release the device button you want to set up (TV, VCR, Cable Box) However, if you are using AUX for a device, press and release AUX first and then the device button for the type of device to be programmed (TV, VCR, or Cable). The selected device button will flash once.
  4. Release CODE SEARCH.
  5. Press OFF/ON repeatedly until the device turns off (you may have to press up to 100 times at a rate of once per second).
  6. Once the device turns off, press and release ENTER.
  7. With the device on, press any other button. If the device responds, no further programming is required. If the device does not respond, repeat steps 1-6.

Toshiba DVD/VCR Recorder

The only thing you can do is to program the recorder to come on and record at a certain time and also program the event timer for the Bell Expressvu.
