Freezers still make condensation like air conditioners. they have a drain line heater to keep the condensate liquid until it exits the freezer. then it goes into a drain pain that usually has the high (hot) side line running through it to evaporate the water and at the same time increase efficiency. you probably have a rusted out drain pan which you can replace. you can make one from sheet metal and just seal the corners with RTV silicone, be careful sheet metal WILL cut you badly, so wear gloves whenever handling that stuff.

Check the seal around the lid sits firmly on the rim, give it a good defrost before restocking. Make sure all else is working and clean, particularly any condenser grilles / fans.

My kenmore chest freezer is the garage, the temperature outside is over 30 celsius, the side of the freezer where the motor is is very hot, and some other places on the front and other side is warm to the...

The hot sides is normal, this is how they expel the heat from inside the freezer, sometimes it may help to use a fan to help cool. Also make sure there is about 12" of room around all sides of the freezer .

Basement flooded and chest freezer was down there. Any chance the freezer will work again or is it junk?

Yes it will work again. But I would not trust it. If you do want to use it you will want to let it dry out fre at least one week.

Freezer not keeping foods frozen

If this freezer is running all of the time and only freezing the walls at the top inside it is a good chance there is deteriation in the piping in the walls eg (rusty pipes) letting the refridgerant escape (common fault) with chest freezers. If it is more than 7 years old it would be advisable to replace it as the repair would probably cost 3 quarters of replacement price.Hope this helps. Kind Regards.

Chest freezer not freezing on bottom

Sounds like a circulation problem. Does it have a fan inside the freezer. Should be bdhind the floor or one of the wall panels. There should be a vent for the air to circulat through. If so check to make sure it's running when the compressor runs.

Kenmore 18 cu ft chest freezer

A chest freezer is a very simple machine. There are no fans or defrost system to cause a problem.
You need to make sure the thermostat is not turning off to soon.
If the compressor is running but it does not cool, then there is a problem with the refrigerant system.
You will want to check around with some local repair services, but about the cheapest you would have it repaired will be around $250. That is if it can be repaired at all. The majority of the refrigerant lines are inside the cabinet and unrepairable.
