try replaced power switch Part No: 910971-01

Checked your bag if they are full, if bagless check your filter. If still not working maybe the protected temperature fuse blown out. You need to open it and replace the protected blown fuse.

As was my problem, checked and washed filters (both) checked all accessable tubes but problem was that the tube inside the drum and the tapered section at the top ws solid with dust.
remove 3 small screws in top (Torx heads) and clean out. Job Done!

Take it back - the power on switch button sounds like its being tempramental and it shouldn't do that. It would have to be repaired.
