Hello, My Hot Point Washer/Dryer is AQUARIES WD420 Model. I am on a "Wash cycle G50", but the light of the "on/off" switch is flashing and the lights of the "Dry High Heat" as well as "Reduce Creases" are flashing. The machine will not start. This only happened when I already had one wash done successfully. I tried to switch off the 2 flashing lights but failed. I tried to switch the on/off light and it does switch off but then it flashes. What is the problem please?

That sounds like you are on Pause or Delayed Start. Try Pressing and holding the button. You can also try disconnecting from the mains for 5 minutes.
When in doubt, read the manual :>D
START/PAUSE button with indicator light: starts or temporarily interrupts the wash cycles. N.B. To pause the wash cycle in progress, press this button; the corresponding indicator light will flash orange, while the indicator light for the current wash cycle phase will remain lit in a fixed manner. If the DOOR LOCKED indicator light is switched off, the door may be opened. To start the wash cycle from the point at which it was interrupted, press this button again.
and also
! If the START/PAUSE indicator light (orange) flashes rapidly at the same time as the function indicator light, this indicates a problem has occurred (see "Troubleshooting").
My WD 420 packed up, after watching the blogs I did:1) remove filter - found 2 quid, a thong, a pop sock, a christmas cracker toy and a load of gunge. 2) removed the motor - brushes worn to nothing - replaced them.
Washer running as new. 6 years old, 2 house moves - not bad reliability. Nearly gave up and bought a new machine!!
Dont think its pressure switch.if sticks one way machine overfills the other brings on heater with empty drum..Could be fauly rinse solonoid valve...Check with multimeter coil should read around3k ohms..good luck
Press the start cancel button for at least 2 seconds, switch off, leave for 2 mins, switch on again holding the botton for 2 secs, then press start cancel buuton again for at least 2 seconds, hope fully ,this should do ths trick.
