trylly apreciate it, wasn not sure if it may be the drum but with your second opinion i will try that, lucky i found a site selling the drum for $55 (remanufactured) of course.

I have a similar problem with receiving faxes and printing copies. After a few acceptable copies the prints get progressively darker. if it is a drum or fuse problem where can I purchase these items at a reasonable price?

Your experience and advice will be appreciated. Thank you,

You can prove if drum or fuser by stopping print at about half way and checking if fault is present when stopping paper before fuser but after drum.

Common problem with this fax and others with the DR200/250 drum. Change the drum, it's shot. They have a limited shelf life. Brother's estimate of yield only works in the most favorable conditions under moderate use. Problem is, a new drum and toner cart will cost nearly as much as you paid for the machine.

How do you retreive faxes in the memory of a brother intell 2800

Hello,

The intliFax 2800 has 2 types of memory.

If you have enabled the Fax Storage option (menu 2 5 2) then you can either turn this option off and you will be prompted to print or you can press Menu 2 5 4.

If there are faxes in the emergency memory, they should print once you clear the error message, if not, then press Menu 2 6 which will attempt to print out any jobs in memory as well.

Thanks,

Pat

2800 will not recieve faxes

Some models will actually stop working whenever a drum message is displayed.
Remember, you do not need a drum to fax out (only to print confirmations) so i would go ahead and change the drum.
Ons ome models you can adjust to how low you want to set it or remove it all together.
It will store it in memory for a while (providing you do not turn off the machine, and print as soon as you replace the toner)
