For over a day it keeps telling my account is unavailable due to my account under maintenance. What does this mean?

then the server your user account is saved on is under going repair, you will just have to wait a few days for them to fix the problem or transfer the account to another server

Sony website is under maintenance as of this moment that is why you are having issues logging in now.

As per Sony:

"PlayStation®Store and the PlayStation®Network account management section will be temporarily unavailable due to scheduled maintenance on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 from 8:05 am to 5:00 pm PDT"

it means the server of the website is under repair or some regular checkup and it will be at your service so that you can browse in a short time .

They are doing site maintenance it should come back up on it's own you will have to log out and back on in most cases

Try clearing the cache on your computer. What browser are you using?
On Google Chrome: - Click the wrench down arrow - Click Options - Under 'Personal Stuff' tab, choose "clear browsing data" - Make sure "Clear Cache" is checked and click OK

On Internet Explorer: - Click Tools - Safety - Delete Browsing History
On Firefox: - Click Tools - Options - Click Advanced (ICON) - Click Network (TAB) - Click "Clear Now" and then OK
If that doesn't work, email Facebook Support to see if there's a problem with your account. They respond pretty quickly.
